Candida Question #9 Can A Man’s PSA Level Become Elevated Due To A Prostate Infection?

It certainly can. There are many reasons why your prostate may become enlarged. An enlargement of the prostate will cause an elevation of PSA, whether it’s through benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH, prostate cancer; but in my opinion, also due to a yeast infection or another infection of the prostate.

When the prostate gets enlarged in general, it will cause an elevation of PSA. Now, your urologist or urinary doctor may disagree with me, but on several occasions I have seen a male’s prostate PSA level come down once we treated a yeast infection.

What are some of the reasons why men’s prostates would become affected through Candida? Beer drinking is one of them, excess sugar consumption, having intimate relations with a female with chronic vaginal thrush, and if he’s got a low immune system, and particularly if he’s under high stress. But I have seen many cases of males with prostate issues, pain in the groin, burning on urination, high PSA levels, and many other manifestations of urinary male Candida infection.

So to answer the question, absolutely, a man’s PSA can be elevated due to prostatitis, which can have a cause in yeast infection.

Candida Question #8 I Cured My Candida But Will It Come Back?

Here’s an email I received from a lady some time ago who beat her yeast infection, but now she’s concerned that it may recur.

Well, it shouldn’t happen. You shouldn’t have to get your infection back at all providing you’ve learned your lessons and you’ve understood the cause and effect. Many people develop a yeast infection through poor lifestyle or diet. For example, taking recurring antibiotics, the oral contraceptive pill, or different medications or perhaps eating too much ice cream, having too much sugar in general or carbs in their diet, high stress lifestyles, not enough sleep, there are many reasons why people develop a yeast infection and also many reasons why they maintain this particular yeast infection.

So, if you’ve understood the cause and effect and you’ve worked on the causes, you’ve understood the exciting cause or the reason why you developed it, and then you’ve eradicated the maintaining causes, the reasons why you’ve maintained this infection, there’s no reason to believe you should have your yeast infection back again.

The other thing I would say to you is did you learn your lesson? Candida is a good teacher. Did you learn something from your experiences? Have you moved on? Was it a lesson you needed to learn? If you learned well and you consider Candida your teacher and you’re a good pupil, then you should have learned your lesson and not have to suffer the consequences of a yeast infection again.

So I hope that answers your question. You should not have to endure a recurrence of your yeast infection.

Candida Question #7 Do Heavy Metals Such As Mercury Cause Yeast Infection?

Well, not directly, but like many other toxins, heavy metals such as arsenic, cadmium, mercury, lead, tin, aluminum will certainly cause problems with your immune system. They can suppress the immune system and create problems on many different levels inside your body.

When this occurs, it can often lead to opportunistic infectious disease, including a yeast infection. There is certainly evidence which makes us believe that mercury, particularly methyl mercury which is secreted by your mercury amalgam fillings, has an effect on yeast in the digestive system, particularly in the bowel.

So we have seen a connection with people with mercury fillings and yeast infections, particularly people that don’t recover well, and I was one of those people back in the mid-80s. After having 30 amalgam fillings removed and replaced with new fillings, my health took a turn for the worse and I’ve certainly seen this with many patients who’ve had dental restoration; they’ve had a major aggravation of a gut problem or a yeast infection. So there is a connection between mercury and Candida.

So, do heavy metals cause Candida? Not directly, but indirectly they do. And if you’re concerned, do see your health care professional for some heavy metal testing.

Thank you.
