Candida Smell Test

This is going to be another home test for Candida to determine if you have Candida or not. This is called the “smell test.” It’s quite a funny one, the smell test.

They did some research at a college in London a long time ago, the Imperial College in London, in England, and they found out that people who have excessive bacteria and fungi on their body often have a body odor about them, a smell.

I frequently get emails from people saying they’ve got bad breath or they got body odor, what could be going on? So it’s not uncommon to have like a, “whewwww,” a smell under the armpit or like a body odor. People with Candida often have gas. They have bloating. They have flatulence. They have bad bowel motions, so they’ve got a lot of fermentation going on in the gut. This fermentation creates heat and body odor as a consequence.

If you go to a brewery or you do your own home brewing of wine or beer or know an uncle or a relation who does this, go into that place where they do it and it’ll be a bit smelly. The odor that is produced with fermentation is quite common. Fermentation also creates warmth or heat, so people sometimes complain about sweating or flushing with excessive fermentation dysbiosis, which occurs with Candida quite a lot, so heat can be generated. Perspiration can be generated, bad body odor, sweating all the time, smelly armpits just after a shower, still got bad body odor, and so this could be a sign of an intestinal Candida problem, digestive Candida problem. So what happens on the inside of the body goes to the outside of the body.

Once a week you can do this test and then write it down on my symptom tracker to determine if your body odor is changing. As Candida goes away and the gut improves more and more and the fermentation disappears slowly and the good bacteria come back, you’ll find that the odor will go away as well and you’ll smell normal. You won’t have to be embarrassed around people anymore.

That’s the smell test. Try and determine if your body – if the odor is changing, if it’s getting better or getting worse and record that or have someone tell you that they think that your body odor is changing, someone that’s close to you, a partner or a friend or something. They may notice this change as well.

So that’s called the smell test. Thanks for tuning into my video today.

Candida Sound Test

Thanks for checking out this video. Have you checked out my other videos regarding the home testing? There are different ones you can check out. There’s a sound test, a smell test, a spit test, and there’s many different other home tests, so just check those out as well alongside this video.

So this test is called the “sound test.” The sound test is basically does your digestive system make a lot of noises? A healthy digestive system is virtually silent. You don’t hear anything. You don’t feel anything. It’s very quiet. There are no sensations. But many people with yeast infection have got all these rumbling noises and gurgling noises, and they’ve got bloating. They have to undue their waste band after a meal, particularly after food if they hear a lot of like weird sounds going on.

I’ve heard people say they lie in bed at night and they can hear their partner’s tummy going crazy, all these sort of noises, and there’s lots of gas associated with it. So if there’s a lot of gas, flatulence or farting, rumbling noises, gurgling sounds like water or things like that, all these sort of sensations can point to fermentation dysbiosis.

Fermentation is what occurs as a process of sugars basically being consumed or eaten up or fermenting under the presence of bacteria or particularly fungi. This is common in brewing beer or brewing wine.

We get fermentation. So with fermentation, gas gets produced. And if you look at how wine is made, there’s an airlock on the top of the container and air will come out. Air can’t come back because it’s a lock. I see the air lock in humans as being the anus, the rectal area, because your bum holds it back. Gas will come through, that’s flatulence. Everybody has a normal level of flatulence, and usually it’s passed at night. But people with a yeast infection can have a lot of gas, a lot of gas, and if they’re guys, they’ll often joke about it, particularly beer drinkers. But excessive amounts of gas is a sign of very poor digestive health and clearly a sound that the body makes. So if there’s excessive gas, rumbling, any of these noises, it usually points to fermentation and it will often point to a Candida problem in the gut or bacterial, but mainly Candida.

So that’s the sound test. This is a test you do once a week to determine if the level of sound in the gut has gone up or down and then you put that score 1, 2, 3, whether it be mild, moderate or severe that goes into the symptom tracker. The symptom tracker is a very handy way to determine at home if you’ve got a bad yeast infection or not, and you keep tracking these symptoms over a three month period.

So check out my other videos and don’t forget to do the quiz on yeastinfection.org. It’s the world’s best online Candida quiz to determine how bad your Candida is.

Thanks for tuning in.

Candida Spit Test

Question that I get asked every now and then. What is the spit test for Candida? Is the spit test accurate for Candida? Does it work? Is it quackery? Is it a fraud? Is it a stupid test? Is it unscientific? Is it inaccurate? Is it bogus? These are all the sort of questions I get asked around the spit test. I can tell you now, I’ve been recommending the spit test for patients for over 20 years, and I don’t think it’s a bogus test at all. I think it’s a very valid test. What I like about it, it’s an instant test.

Here’s how you do it and this is the way to do it properly. I’ve seen many YouTube clips and read many blog posts where people are getting inaccurate advice on how to do the test. The way to do this test, when you get up in the morning, you put nothing in your mouth before you do the test. This is what I call a fasting test, so you have your meal at night – whatever it is – you brush your teeth, you go to bed, all the things that you normally do. When you wake up in the morning before you put anything in your mouth at all, no coffee, no donuts, or whatever you have for breakfast, no cereal, no muesli, nothing; you just go straight to the kitchen and get a glass of water, clean water, it doesn’t matter whether it’s tap water or whatever kind of water. I don’t think it makes any difference. And you work up a bit of saliva in your mouth and you spit that into the glass of water, and then you watch it. You just put the glass down there on the bench top and you leave it there for up to an hour.

What you’ll notice if you haven’t got a yeast infection or if you’ve got a very, very minor one or insignificant one, you’ll notice that the saliva will float on top of the water. It’ll just sit there. But what you’ll notice if you’ve got a yeast infection, especially a bad yeast infection, is you’ll start getting strings hanging under the saliva, and they’ll hang right down.

Ever been to a cave and seen glowworms in a cave? You see all those little sort of things hanging off the cave. It’s a bit like that. It’s a bit like you’ve got a level surface and something in a suspension hanging underneath it. If you’ve got a very severe yeast infection, you might even find in the middle of glass a cloud, almost like a little cloud, there could be specks in them or there could also be little specks or things on the bottom of the glass. These are things that may occur with a major yeast infection.

How does this occur? Why is this a valid test? People who have got a yeast infection, especially moderate to severe yeast infection, they’re attracted to sugar and sweet things. What I find is many times these people will eat these foods and they’ll start producing mucus in their mouth and extra saliva build up. I’ve had this conversation with many people with severe Candida, and they’ll say that they can eat a food and they’ll have to clear their throat not long after or they’ll have mucus in their nose, and this will happen. This will build up as a consequence of the yeast, the Candida albicans in their mouth, on their tongue, inside their mouth. The yeast starts getting attracted to the sugar. It starts forming a mucus compound, so when you spit that in the water, you’ll notice there’s extra mucus there. It’s quite large globules of mucus and phlegm or catarrh whatever you want to call it.

Many people with Candida have to clear their throat or clear their nose; in the nasal pharyngeal region there will be mucus in there. They wake up in the morning with a cough. The mucus can be in the bronchial tubes. The mucus can be anywhere in this whole region. It can be really phlegmed up. The esophagus can be really choked up with phlegm, with mucus. So people, who eat sugar or crave sugar, will often have excess production of this mucus and a lot of saliva build up in the mouth and extra bacteria contribute in there as well, which are often the specks or the cloud. You’ll get Candida in the mucus. You’ll also get bacteria in there and they’ll form this whole big soothing sort of an oozing sort of mess that hangs down off the water, so it is a valid test. I’d like you to do this weekly.

In my book, Candida Crusher, I mention about the various different kinds of home tests you can do. With the spit test, it’s good to do it every week for a three-month period as you’re going through the Candida Crusher program. In my book, I’ve actually created this test tracker here, so a Candida test tracker. What you can do there with the various tests that I recommend is you can actually write down the score of mild, moderate or severe for the test to track your progress.

In other videos, I’m going to talk about other kinds of home tests you can do like the craving test, the sound test, the smell test, the tongue test, there’s various other tests. These are tests you may never have heard of, but I’ve developed some of these tests in clinical practice because I find they really work.

The spit test is a really good one you can use at home right now, so give it a go. Thanks for tuning in.
