How to get rid of vaginal thrush?

Thanks for checking out this video. This video is for the ladies. It’s not for the guys. I’ve got a question here from a patient in England. This is from Jackie and Jackie’s 28 years of age. She’s from Buxton in Derbyshire in England.

Jackie’s asking me, Eric, how do you treat vaginal thrush? How do you get rid of a vaginal yeast infection? What’s the best way to cure it? I’m sick and tired of this infection. I’ve had it for years. I’ve been to doctors many, many times. And she writes here, ‘I’ve taken fluconazole on and off regularly now for the past six years. I’m taking it monthly and it’s not working. What can I do? I’m tired of this yeast infection.’

Jackie, the best way to get rid of this infection is by using a multi-stage approach. You’re wasting your time treating this vaginally or locally. It’s a complete waste of time. You need to tackle this from several different angles. Like anything in life, if you want to do something, there’s several ways of doing it. You can do it the quick, easy way, the lazy way, or you can do it the more convoluted way, also a waste of time, or you can do it the intelligent way.

I’m going to explain to you the intelligent way on how to nail a vaginal yeast infection and how to get rid of thrush completely. I don’t use the word “cure.” You won’t find “cure” in my book. In Candida Crusher, I didn’t write the word “cure.” It’s a four-letter word. I don’t like using four-letter words that much.

In natural medicine, cure is an “anathema.” An anathema is a word for “it’s really bad.” It’s just something we don’t do. I only let medical doctors use the word “cure” because I don’t really believe you can cure something entirely. You can get rid of something or inhibit it, but the best way to describe getting on top of a yeast infection is to control the infection.

How are we going to control this yeast infection and tame it? It’s like anything in life. You need to do it intelligently. When you’ve had the problem for a short period of time, I like getting patients to come down on an acute yeast infection like a ton of bricks. They immediately tackle it head on. It’s like anything in life. Push it hard, go for the max, get it over and done with, and then be vigilant for any signs of reoccurrence. That’s the thing. If you can be vigilant and understand that a yeast infection can recur at any time and you make immediate changes, which I’m going to explain to you right now, you can nail that infection within usually a week and you won’t get it back again for several months.

How do we go about eradicating a vaginal yeast infection or thrush? Obviously, we want to look at local treatment. In Chapter 5 of Candida Crusher, you can read a lot about the local two-stage treatment of a vaginal yeast infection. If you go to yeastinfection.org, my comprehensive website, you can read my two-stage vaginal approach, the kill phase and the build phase. I want you to go to that website, if you haven’t already gone there, and use that two-stage approach.

I presented a vaginal yeast infection treatment at a medical conference in Sydney last year, 2014, and it was well received by the 300 doctors, a good response from this presentation. Many doctors came up to me after wanting to know how I came about this treatment. How successful was it? So many doctors told me they’re disillusioned using fluconazole, and they really wanted something that was going to nail it once and forever. And I basically said to them, “You guys need to start looking at things that you don’t currently do that I do and that’s actually lifestyle changes, diet changes, and local treatment.”

Those are the three things I want you to get into your mind, Jackie. You need to look at changing the way you live, which can often mean sleeping better, eating better, relaxing more, understanding the connection between stress and impaired immune function, all of these things are written in my book, Candida Crusher. This is why the book has been so successful because it just doesn’t really tackle the problem; it tackles the cause of the problem. There’s always a reason why vaginal infection is there.

Local treatment is not that difficult. You need to use boric acid or you can use different types of douche treatments. You can read about that in my book or go to my website, yeastinfection.org. I’m not going to elaborate on those today. You look at dietary treatment. You need to stop feeding Candida internally. Most women who’ve got a vaginal yeast infection have got an intestinal yeast infection. Twenty percent of healthy women normally have Candida in their body, but I would say that 90 percent of women with vaginal yeast infections have got Candida in their intestinal tract in their large bowel. That needs taming. You need to really stop feeding these bugs, and you’ll do that by diet.

Again, I’ve got a three-stage diet. You can read about that in my book, Chapter 7. It’s in five sections and it goes into great detail more than any other book you’ll ever find about what to eat and what not to eat. My website, yeastinfection.org, has got hundreds of articles relating to diet, so go there and read about what to eat and what not to eat.

The third, but most important in my opinion, is the lifestyle change. You need to understand the connection between the adrenal and thyroid function, impaired immunity, and why you keep getting this thing back again.

I’ve treated thousands of women for vaginal infections, thousands of them. You name the occupation and I can tell you I’ve had a patient with that occupation with a vaginal infection. Recently, I’ve been treating several women from the US who work on airplanes, airhostesses. I’ve had several of them now. They work crazy hours. They’ve got weird hours. They fly to strange destinations and eat all kinds of crappy food. They’re under high stress. They’ve got impaired immunity because the lack of quality sleep. They’re eating the wrong kind of food. They’re drinking cheap booze. Many of them got crappy relationships because they’re away from their partners. Is it any wonder they’ve got these vaginal infections? They’ve got to wear pantyhose. Several cases, I’ve said to these women, “You need to get rid of your job for six months. Let’s get rid of this infection and then reapply and then let’s first get you to do some local flying in northern US before you branch out and go to Europe or intercontinental.” For some women, it’s made a massive difference. You need to tackle the lifestyle.

Are you a young woman with several children under high stress? Are you separated or divorced? Are you under a lot of financial stress? Have you got a poor relationship with your partner? These are all things that I want to know if you’re my patient because these things mean a lot to me because they can be impediments to curing your thrush or vaginal infection.

If you’re serious about getting rid of this infection, you want to look at the causes of the infection, not treat the manifestations or the outcomes of why you got this in the first place. Do you take an antibiotic routinely? You know what I mean? Look at these sort of things. If you can nail this, the infection is gone. Simple as that.

Jackie, I hope that’s answered your question today. Thanks for tuning in.

What are the signs that my thrush is gone and treated?

Thank you for checking out this video. How do you know when thrush is gone? How do you know when you haven’t got a woman’s yeast infection anymore? What are some of the key indications?

Of course, one of the main indications for knowing that the symptom is gone is not having the itching and the irritation in the private region. That is a key indication. But sometimes it could be a problem in not knowing whether it’s one thing or the other.

Many women find that pre-menstrual they tend to get more of a problem than any other time in their cycle. It could be mid-cycle or at ovulation, but often it will be two or three days before the period and sometimes being a real problem just the day before.

I find it takes between three to six cycles of treatment with a pre- and post-menstrual treatment to really get a handle on this problem, particularly if the diet has been done properly, if you’re taking a good antifungal and you’re doing a good thing with the diet and you’re treating it locally.

Chapter 5 in my book, Candida Crusher, explains all about vaginal treatment and eradication of yeast infections. You can also read more on yeastinfection.org.

A key thing you’re going to find is the irritation will be gone. The itching will be gone. Any discharge will be gone. You’ll be getting a normal discharge.

All those sort of things will be gone. Be careful to distinguish between bacterial vaginosis and Candida. Those are two separate types of conditions. But you can read more about that on my site, too.

Thanks for tuning in.

How Can Candida Albicans Become Pathogenic?

How does Candida make you sick? How does it cause pathogenesis?

The word pathogenesis means basically the beginning of sickness. There are multiple ways Candida can make you sick, how it can make us unwell, how it can keep us sick, and how it can keep us unwell for many, many years, in fact, decades. Some people never recover from a yeast infection.

In this video, I’m going to explain some of the key concepts behind how Candida can make you sick. One of the key ways, I say the first way, is it’s going to compete with a lot of the other bacteria in your body. Candida is not a bacteria; it’s a fungus. But when it overgrows, it starts to compete with a lot of beneficial bacteria.

I find, in my experience, that people with multiple Candida strains in their body and large amounts of Candida tend to also have dysbiotic bacteria; they have a lot of bad bacteria in their gut as well. They also tend to have lower amounts of beneficial bacteria. So it’s really like too many criminals, not enough police. You get the point. You’re going to get a big imbalance there. You’re going to get a lot of problems, a lot of crime committed internally, including a lot of bloating, a lot of gas, and a lot of other associated problems.

The other big issue you’re going to find with Candida is it helps to promote leaky gut syndrome. You can read about leaky gut on my site, yeastinfection.org. Leaky gut means more intestinal permeability, particularly of the small intestine, which is going to allow the immune system to set up an antibody/antigen challenge response potentially with foods that are coming through the digestive system, challenging the immune system on the other side without being digested. Candida tends to be present with people often who have leaky gut. I’m not sure whether it’s the chicken or the egg, whether one causes the other, but there’s certainly an association there with them both. People with lots of Candida and major overgrowth often have multiple food allergies as a result, too, from the leaky gut.

The third aspect is when Candida dies or it gets attacked in the body and it tends to break up and release these particular types of chemicals in the system. This one particular type of glycoprotein is called mannan, the cell wall fraction. I’ve spoken about this before in some videos. Mannan, it’s a bit like dropping a champagne glass, you get millions of shards of glass all around the place, and that’s what happens to Candida. And each shard will attract the attention of the immune system, which will go after that and try to mop it up. So the immune system, again, will try to produce antibodies to clean up the mannan and produce antibody/antigen complexes, a bit like something floating around in the body. We call these things circulating immune complexes. CICs or circulating immune complexes, again, attract more attention from other particular white cells that secrete chemicals with weird names like dermonecrosis factor and interleukin 1 and interleukin 8. These chemicals are sent after things to fully eradicate them from the body. These things will produce inflammation and pain and redness and swelling and all sorts of symptoms.

As you can see, it’s a bit of a nightmare what Candida can potentially do. Candida can move into parts of the body that bacteria, for example, have a hard time going into. Parasites and various other products in the body that may have difficulty moving around; Candida doesn’t seem to have too much of a problem moving around freely through the body. And part of this mechanism is a chemical it secretes to evade capture by the immune system. It’s Gliotoxin.

Candida is a very smart organism that knows how to evade capture. It knows how to clog up the immune system. It knows how to compete. It knows how to thrive off the human organism, and it’s been around for a long time.

Check out my other videos on how to eradicate this thing and get it back into balance again. Unfortunately, the medical profession doesn’t even view Candida as being a real problem. But I can tell you now; it certainly is a problem. And if you don’t get on top of the imbalance, it can make you very, very sick.

I hope that answers the question about the pathogenic aspect of Candida. Thank you for tuning in.
