Why Should I Use Antifungals With Candida?

Have you checked out my websites yet? Yeastinfection.org and CandidaCrusher.com? You can also go to EricBakker.com. There are other good articles on that site as well. The question today is why use antifungals for Candida? Why would you need to take an antifungal? Can’t you just get rid of a yeast infection with diet alone? Why not just take pharmaceutical pills? Why not just eat certain kinds of foods and avoid sugars and the offending foods? Is that the best way to overcome Candida?

Using an antifungal is a very intelligent approach. Using a small amount of very high quality antifungal, particularly when the diet is correct, is easy. It’s not a difficult thing to do. By preparing your diet well beforehand, taking out the crappy food, eating a higher quality food, you’re going to prepare your digestive system and minimize any digestive aggravations. You’re going to possibly avoid things like lots of flatulence, bloating, digestive pain, nausea, vomiting, all that can be avoided by making changes well beforehand. Even a month or so before you start taking the antifungal. There’s no point in drinking three cans of Coke a day and then the following day taking an antifungal. It’s pretty dumb to do that. Does that make sense to you? It makes sense to me. As I always say, common sense isn’t very common with a lot of people, especially the medical people. Many times, they don’t even tell people to make change. They just give them drugs, which is a pretty dumb thing to do. Antifungals are an intelligent way to get rid of not just a yeast infection, but to improve digestive function in general.

A good antifungal like Canxida, which I helped to develop in the US. A good product like that contains also herbal medicines with a bitter property, which stimulate the liver to function more optimally. They create more bile flow. And when you can create more bile flow secretion, you’re also going to eliminate more toxins from your body, all sorts of chemicals that the body has filtered and stored. You’ll release those better. You’ll reduce cholesterol levels. Bile production and flow is very, very important in maintaining optimal health because it also allows the proper breakdown and absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, so it’s important that your liver functions optimally. A good antifungal like Canxida will improve liver function. It will also inhibit bacteria and parasites right through from the stomach right through to the lower parts of the digestive system. And a good antifungal will even have a good digestive enzyme in it like betaine hydrochloride, which Canxida does that helps to acidify the stomach. And that in turn is going to really help to improve the pH of the digestive system that totally discourages bad bacteria and encourages a proliferation of good bacteria.

As you can see, there are many reasons why you should use an antifungal for Candida. Remember, an antifungal also needs to have antibacterial and anti-parasitic properties about it because there’s a stupid belief that taking pills like Lufenuron, this chitin based product to work on the cell wall. This is belief that people with a yeast infection only have Candida. That’s a load of crap. They don’t. They also have lots of bad bacteria and they’ve got poor levels of beneficial bacteria.

An intelligent approach means an antifungal that you take, you only need to take one product. The Candida diet mentions to take five or six antifungals in a rotating fashion, which is a dumb idea. Who wants to take handfuls of pills every day and at a great expense? One product, intelligent approach. One product that achieves multiple aims in the body, very intelligent approach. Low cost. My idea. Being Jewish origin, I believe in economy, low cost effectiveness, and that’s why I created Canxida. It’s going to work powerfully, minimal cost, quickest possible time.

I hope that answers your question on why should you take an antifungal for Candida. Thanks for tuning in.

How Does Nystatin Work?

Thanks for tuning into my video today. We’re going to talk about Nystatin today. What is Nystatin? How does it work as an antifungal?

Nystatin is really a pharmaceutical or medical treatment for yeast infections. It was discovered in the 1950s by two American researchers. Interesting, a lot of antifungals and antibacterial drugs, they’re sourced from bacteria. Experiments are made on bacteria. And a particular Streptomyces noursei was isolated in 1950. And in 1954, these two lady researchers developed this drug called Nystatin, and it was named after the New York State laboratory where this drug was originally isolated and developed.

I’m not a big fan of Nystatin for many different reasons. Dr. William Crook who wrote the Yeast Connection in the 1980s was a fan of Nystatin. And, in fact, he even used drugs like Nizoral, stronger kind of drugs like that and said as long as these drugs are provoking symptoms in people, keep taking them in higher and higher dosages to ensure a good kill with Candida. Which is completely contrary to the way I work today. I don’t really like creating a huge kill in people. It pisses a lot of people off. It makes them sick and creates lots of die off which you don’t want.

Nystatin works by simply disrupting the cell membrane of the yeast. It opens up and interferes with the cell membrane and allows the contents to spill out and the immune system can then attack it. It’s very effective. There’s no doubt about it. It is effective and it works on various Candida strains, but the problem with this is that people can develop very strong side effects. The die off can be extremely severe with Nystatin and so can the allergies. Those are the two concerns I have with it, the allergic response that patients can have to it, even anaphylaxis, and also the severe Herxheimer or die off reaction they get from it.

In my book, I explain this. I liken it to being in an oil tanker taking Nystatin. Try to understand this. Let’s just say you’re in charge of a large oil tanker that weighs hundreds of thousands of tons, one of those massive big oil tankers, and all of a sudden, you’re trying to accelerate this ship and go faster and faster. Anyone who understands anything about weight and velocity, if you’ve got a huge big ship going at a high speed and you want to dock that ship into port many miles out, you’ve got to slow down, way, way out in the ocean because the inertia of that weight keeps on going for quite a long time, doesn’t it? I saw a great YouTube video of a tanker coming into dock and it literally demolished the whole dock because the guy hadn’t put on the brakes six miles out of port.

The point I’m making is if you take half a million units of Nystatin three times per day, which is not unusual, you’re creating an inertia. You’re creating a huge amount of activity in the body. You’re killing a lot of Candida. Potentially killing an incredible amount. Now what happens is over a period of several hours to days, all these cells start dying off, opening up, releasing their contents, then the immune system starts attacking the contents. This is going to create a reaction. The contents get attacked and create what we call “circulating immune complexes,” which get further attacked. You get a double whammy. You get almost like a chain reaction occurring inside the body where you’re feeling not so good; you’re feeling bad. You’re feeling like crap. You’re feeling terrible. You’re feeling really bad.

The inertia is too strong. This happens a lot with antifungals in general. People often take too much, too soon. Go slowly when you take an antifungal, especially a powerful one like Nystatin. It’s too strong for many people to take in large doses for a short period of time. I’ve had too many patients on Skype, on the phone, email, or even face to face in my room, that got very, very sick on Nystatin. I’ve had the same with people on Lufenuron. People violently ill, even going to the emergency ward in the hospital with Lufenuron vomiting and diarrhea and all sorts of things.

All the people who pedal these products will say to the contrary, but I see them in my room and I see them on Skype and I talk to them. They’re not going to come out there and put their face in a YouTube video like I am and talk about their experiences. A lot of people are embarrassed to talk about these things, but they do get very sick from these products. Be careful with Nystatin. It’s not my favorite drug of choice to use. It is used sometimes also for vaginal yeast infections and for skin infections. When used very cautiously, I think it has its place. I much prefer to use a natural antifungal. I think you’re going to get a lot better result with that and more broad spectrum result than you are with Nystatin which only targets yeasts. Taking a product which only targets yeast is a stupid thing to do when you’ve got Candida. You want to take something that targets bacteria, fungi, and yeasts because people with Candida always have a combination of things.

I hope that answers your question about Nystatin. Thanks for tuning in.

How do I take a Candida antifungal?

Thanks for tuning in. I’ve got a question here today from a patient in New York. Eric, how do I take a Candida antifungal? Okay, let’s answer that one.

There’s many different ways you can take antifungals, that kind of products. Remember, I don’t really like the term “antifungal” because a lot of people with Candida also have lots of different strains of bad bacteria or what we call “commensal bacteria.” It’s bacteria that can be good or bad. Oftentimes, when a person’s had a digestive problem, particularly with a yeast infection, for quite a few years, they will have developed many different types of strains of bad bacteria in their digestive system, along with fluctuating levels of Candida. Not just Candida albicans but different types of Candida, and there will also be parasites in there as well.

The longer you’ve been unwell, the more cautious you need to be. The more the symptoms you’ve got, the more cautious you need to be, particularly if there’s strong presenting symptoms. If you’re a very sensitive person, you need to go very easy on any dietary supplement, not just an antifungal. We’re talking also fish oils, vitamin C, magnesium, glucosamine, any kind of supplement you take, you need to be careful with.

In my book, Candida Crusher, I wrote about the three kinds of patients I see. The normal people probably like you and me that can take different things quite well; the sensitive people who need to be careful with things because they will have some sensitivities to certain foods and supplements; and then the super sensitive, and these are people that are the extreme reactors because they react very violently to small amounts of things. When it comes to taking an antifungal, you first have to work out are you normal, are you sensitive, are you super sensitive? And then you can work from that basis on.

Generally, average people like you and me can usually take an antifungal two to three times per day with meals, no problem at all. Even if they’ve had Candida a long time, they may want to work in with one tablet for three days with a meal. Then one tablet twice a day for the next three days. Then after about a week, they can go to three doses per day. That would probably be about 60 percent of the patients I see. For the remaining 40 percent, probably about a good 35 percent of those would be sensitive people, so they may want to start on one tablet a day for a week. Even break a tablet in half.

I keep using the word “tablet” and that’s because I believe that the best antifungal is a tablet not a capsule. Tablet because you can get twice as much in it, you can compress it. Also because you can add a sustained release component to this product to make it last a lot longer in the digestive system to give you a much longer rate of inhibition rather than just take a capsule.

For that reason, I developed Canxida. You can go to Canxida.com and check that out. It took a long time to develop this product and a long time to source the correct raw materials, but I certainly do really believe that it’s the best antifungal Candida supplement currently anywhere on the market. And that’s the feedback I’m getting from people who’ve used every single product out there.

I looked at capsules and I started to use capsules a long time ago with patients to get rid of Candida, but I found they were nowhere near as effective as tablets. You have to take way more product. You don’t seem to get the effect. The other concern I have with capsules is because they open quickly and release their contents in the gut. Bingo! You get very strong side effects with these products. If you want to cruise toward a bad die off reaction, take antifungal capsules and you certainly will notice that. With tablets, it doesn’t happen that quickly because you tend to get a much slower rate of breakdown and a more protectable prolonged phase where its sustained release breaks down slowly. These products tend to be better for a wide range of people who are taking them.

If you know you’re sensitive, just start slow. Don’t take the antifungal product away from the food if you’re sensitive or very sensitive especially. With a tablet, you can even get a tablet cutter from your pharmacy and cut it in three, four or even six pieces and just take a slice of that if you’re super sensitive. I’ve got some patients that are so sensitive that they can literally just smell the Canxida product several times and end up with a bad headache from that because of the sensitivity. Those are the sorts of people that often have violent reactions toward different foods in their diet as well. They make up a very, very small minority of people. By far the bulk of people we see, can take dietary supplements not a problem at all.

Start off with your doses, since usually if you’re sensitive or super sensitive, take it with your evening meal. But if you’re not sensitive at all like me, then just take one with breakfast, one with lunch, and one with dinner. You do that for three days and see how you feel. If you feel like you’ve got digestive upsets or you feel unwell in any way, you cut back to two tablets and you maintain that for another week or so and see how you feel. If that’s again a little bit too much, back off to one. But generally after about 14 days, you can take three doses per day.

How long do you need to take antifungals? My answer is how long is a piece of rope? The answer to that question varies dramatically from patient to patient. I’ve got many patients that respond very well to Canxida over about a 12-week period, so three months generally is enough for most people to create a huge big swing around. I’ve seen that with stool tests with Candida and antibody tests and the spit test and various other tests where they’ve taken the product for 12 weeks and then the tests all started normalizing, coming back as okay.

I’ve had other patients, however, that need to take the product for 12 months, people who’ve been sick for a long period of time that may want to go on holidays, for example, and not take the product or for various other reasons they don’t want to take it for a prolonged period of time. They may want to take it for 12 weeks and stop for four to six weeks and take it again for another 12 weeks. There are no hard and fast rules.

When you take a good combined antifungal like Canxida, you don’t need to rotate antifungals, which I think is a stupid idea. You shouldn’t have to stop one, start another. Taking a combined product with the very best ingredients in it, there’s no rotation required. We’re talking something with undecenoic acid, Caprylic acid, garlic, clove extract, grapefruit seed extract, everything in there. And that’s how an antifungal should be. It should be comprehensive. It should be sustained release and powerful, and it’s going to do the job. And it’s going to do the job for a lot less money than taking a whole bunch of different pills. Keep that in mind.

There’s no real one way to take an antifungal. There’s dozens of different ways. You need to find what the correct path is for you, and you only do that by trial and error, by experimentation, by working what works for you. Your naturopath or your doctor can help you on the right track as far as dosage is concerned, but you’re the one that has to work out how much to take and how long to take it for.

I hope that answers your question. Thanks for tuning in.
