Stool Color And Candida Issues

Greetings. New Zealand naturopath, Eric Bakker, author of Candida Crusher, formulator of the Canxida range of dietary supplements. Thank you so much again for checking out my video. And thank you also for all my fans out there, all the emails I’m getting. I’ve been getting lots of good comments on YouTube. I’m getting lots of comments on Facebook. Yeastinfection.org, we’re getting some nice feedback. I’m also now a member of various closed group communities on Facebook. One recently that I’ve joined is the Swedish Group, so that’s at Candida Cleanse Sweden, and I think we’ve got about 2,500 members on that Facebook page. I’m quite happy to be part of different Facebook forums. If you’re involved in any Facebook groups, please let us know.

We’ve got an email question from a lady called Linda Dearsly and Linda lives in Connecticut in the USA. Linda is asking me about the different colors of stool. What do they mean? She’s a bit alarmed because her stool sometimes is quite a light color and she wants to know what the heck that means. I was going to call this video the 50 Shades of Poo. I thought I better not do that because it might offend a few people. Instead of calling it the 50 Shades of Poo, we’re just basically going to call it What’s wrong with my stool? It’s a funny color.

Let’s talk a little bit about different colors of stool. Normally, a bowel motion will be brown color. If you’ve got that brown tan color to the stool and you’re passing out 12 to 18 inches of bowel motion a day, cigar shaped, low odor, easy to pass, you’ve got good bowel function. You’ve generally got good bacteria. You’re eating a reasonable amount of fiber. You’ve got a good balance in your autonomic nervous system. You’re probably not under too much stress. Stress has a significant effect on the shape of the stool. I’ll probably discuss it in another video.

For example, irritable bowel syndrome, we know that 50 percent of IBS is stress related. People with IBS can sometimes have diarrhea, constipation. People with normal bowel like me will generally have a bowel motion in the morning and generally have a bowel motion in the afternoon. I consider two bowel motions a day to be quite good. Very good indeed.

A good friend of mine that practiced in Africa for many, many years and then went over to the UK, the Island to practice, noticed some massive changes in what he found in bowel function. Indigenous people living in underdeveloped countries eat five, six, seven, ten times more fiber than people who live in the western developed nations. Consequently, they pass out more, cleaner, smaller, more frequent motions and they don’t have to wipe their bum. Because they’ve got a clean, dry stool.

In the western world, we’re one of the very few creatures that actually use toilet paper. Probably the only creature. You don’t see dogs or cats wiping their bottoms with toilet paper or certainly you wouldn’t see birds or any animals doing it.

The humans have got this funny desire every time we go grocery shopping to throw the toilet paper in the shopping trolley and to use that. I hope this isn’t embarrassing you too much. Part of my job with patients is to talk a lot about poos and urination and stool odor and all that sort of stuff, so I don’t find that foreign. My apologies if you’re getting offended by this, but it’s all part of normal human health is to have a good bowel motion. And I can tell you, there’s nothing more satisfying than having a good poo, getting up and feeling like you’ve cleaned right out. It’s really a sign of good health is to have good bowel function.

The brown color as I mentioned before I got off track is really what happens. Red blood cells die and they form part of the bowel pigment that gets produced by the liver and stored in the gall bladder. Bile is secreted into the small intestine during the digestive process. An increase or decrease in bile can certainly change the color of stool. Excess bile can make it greasy, yellowy, greeny color sometimes. Insufficient bile can make it a very pale or white color. It can signify liver disorder. It can signify a biliary obstruction. It’s an obstruction of the bile passage or bile traveling through it. We see that sometimes with gall bladder problems, with gall stones we will see that.

Let’s start with the color green, green poo or green stool. That could mean that you’ve had something like a green smoothie where you’ve had a high chlorophyll load. You’ve drunk something. You’ve had spinach. I eat a lot of spinach, so it’s not unusual to have a green colored stool. Don’t freak out. You’re not Kermit the frog. Think carefully what you had to eat prior to that bowel motion or even what you had two meals prior because that can usually give you an indication for color. It’s not unusual for teething babies to have green stool.

I noticed when I practiced earlier as a homeopath that children that required the homeopathic medicine chamomile, would sometimes have that green spinach, chopped up stool. Children who teethe have a problem with eating food and they can be quite picky and fussy and that can dictate the color of the stool. It can sometimes be green in children.

Generally, green will mean spinach or leafy greens, so it’s the way your body processes the food. It’s not really a big problem. Food may be moving through the large intestine too quickly. It could be due to diarrhea. The bile pigment might not be breaking down properly, especially if you’re eating quite a heavy load of green food. You may not be producing sufficient bile to really help to render the color of that different from green, so don’t freak out too much with that.

Light colored, white or clay colored stools. We just spoke about that before. Lack of bile pigment. That needs investigating. If you consistently got white bowel motions or very pale or chalky – you’ll find dogs sometimes have that. If you give a dog a lot of high fatty foods to eat or too much meat consistently, it can have chalky white stools. I’ve noticed that with dogs sometimes. My wife likes her dog. We’ve had dogs for a few years. Of course, what you feed the dog, you’ll notice what will come out the other end. A big thing with bowel motions is observation. What you eat is what you excrete. Just be a good observer. And a lot of people won’t look into the toilet pan after they’ve had a motion. It’s important to do that from time to time.

Another tip that I mentioned on a previous video. Flush the toilet. Have a motion. And then if you see any oil slicks or that bluey, yellowy, oily color in the water around the stool, it will generally mean you’ve got an issue with your bile. You’ve had potentially too much fat to eat or more fat than your body can break down. Again, you may need a liver cleanse or a gall bladder flush. Many women when I ask them that question, they say, “Yes, Eric. I’ve got a lot of oil floating in there.” And that can coincide with burping, reflux, lots of farting and gas, bloating and all these things. If you have that with that oil slick, then you need a gall bladder flush. Yellow, greasy, foul smelling stool and sometimes have a really smelly stool. Excess fat in the stool. Malabsorption. Celiacs can often get these greasy, smelly stools, especially if they have gluten. They can really notice this stool. Protein in bread can really do that.

Black stool. What if it’s black? You’re not Darth Vader. You’re not coming from outer space or something. Black stool can mean for some people something like eating too much licorice. Licorice can produce black stools. Some medications. Pepto Bismol, for example, can do that. Bismuth is a supplement some people take as part of a bacterial eradication for helicobacter, so that can produce black stools. Black stools can also signify a blood loss. You could be passing out blood higher up in the digestive system and it’s mixing with digestive enzymes, turning it black or dark color. So by the time you excrete it, it’s black. If you’re passing out red in the stool, especially around the outside of the stool, it’s more likely to be a hemorrhoid.

Red in the stool. Be careful. If you see red particles in the stool, it could be a bit of tomato. It’s not uncommon. Sometimes people email me “I’ve got liver flukes. I’ve got weird stuff crawling in my stool.” When I tell them to look at it carefully, it could be little bits of rice that they’ve just swallowed that weren’t digested properly. Bits of corn or bits of tomato. Be careful not to think you’ve got some evil bugs crawling inside your digestive system. It may be that you haven’t chewed food properly. You’ve got to really chew food properly. Chew, chew, chew. That will help to break down the food properly and out to mix with enzymes, so you’ll digest it and absorb it properly and excrete the waste properly. Chewing will be good pooing. If you know what I mean.

Bright red. Bleeding in the lower intestine, the large intestine in particular or the rectum, often from hemorrhoids. Red food coloring can do it. Beets is a classic. If I eat beets, I’ll even urinate out a red color. The red from the beets can come out through the urine. It can come out through the stool. If you eat beets, don’t freak out. You’re not bleeding to death internally. It’s just the beet color. And that may occur for one to two days after eating beets. Drink mixes sometimes can also create that problem.

I think we’ve gone through just about everything. Red stool. Cranberry can sometimes cause the red stool as well with people. I think that gives you a little bit of information there for the person who asked me that question. I hope that gives you a satisfactory reply to the colors of stool. One of my favorite sayings, “Small stools, big hospitals. Big stools, small hospitals.” I’ll leave you with that. Thanks for tuning in.

Is There A Connection Between Mold And Candida?

Greetings. It’s Eric Bakker, naturopath from New Zealand, author of Candida Crusher and formulator of the Canxida range of products. Thanks once again for checking out my video. I really appreciate all the feedback I’m getting from all my fans out there in YouTube land. Thank you so much. I’m getting some great emails. People are connecting up on Facebook. It’s been absolutely fantastic.

I regularly get questions from different people and a few people now from America and New Zealand and Australia over the past several months, but probably a year, have been asking me about mold and Candida. “Eric, can you tell me about mold? I’m a bit suspect I may have mold in my environment. Could it be causing my yeast infection?” I’m going to go into that in a minute to explain how you can actually work out if mold in your environment is causing a problem. There is a very sneaky and easy way for you to determine that. You’ll think, “Of course. It makes sense.”

I wrote quite a big article on molds in your environment and Candida in my book called Candida Crusher. You can also read more about this topic at yeastinfection.org. I’m sure that I’ve got a few mold articles. There are about 1,100 articles on that website now. I’m going to read a bit out of my book here then I’m going to give you a bit of narration along with that.
This is in New Zealand, but it will relate to your country as well if you live in the UK or if you live in Sweden or Denmark or North America or Canada, any of those countries. Anywhere high up or low down on the globe, you’re going to have a problem with mold. More so even than around the tropics. Especially mold like stachybotrys. It’s a particular black mold that we find a lot in buildings.

An investigation in 2005 revealed that New Zealand’s growing leaky building problem was causing a large increase in dangerous mold in damp homes. Asbestos started on very slowly, yet nobody really took the adverse health related links as seriously until many nonsmokers associated with this industry started to develop serious lung problems like cancer and mesothelioma. Mold is actually called the new asbestos. The US government and the asbestos industry have both been criticized for not acting quickly enough to inform the public of the dangers and to reduce public exposure.

In the late 1970s, leaked court documents proved that asbestos industry officials knew plenty about the dangers of asbestos since the 1930s and yet concealed it from the public. Now, many building companies particularly when building compliances and codes were sloppy, I believe know about this problem, too. But a lot of the compliances now have changed and the codes have been changed here in New Zealand and no doubt in your country. Things have tightened up quite a lot in the building industry. But many leaky buildings that we have now could be still from sloppy practices from a long time ago or from warehouse conversions. From older buildings that have been converted to new living spaces, so you need to be quite careful of these.

Brand new homes built now by registered master builders are usually fantastic. They’re made very well. They’re made very sound, but there are still a lot of housing developments here in New Zealand and no doubt in your country that won’t be fantastic. That will have been built by cowboys with poor compliance and very sloppy building codes. These are particularly the things you’ve got to watch out for. Older homes, hastily built homes, homes built by cowboys and not registered professionals. There are a lot of cowboys out there. People like me who don’t know how to do any construction yet play around with saws and hammers and think they know it all, but in fact, we’re quite useless. I’m not going to give up my day job, by the way. I’m going to stick with natural medicine and leave the construction to the professionals.

What do we know about leaky buildings and mold? Do we really know enough about the potential dangers of mold and how many people are living in leaky or moldy environments? The mold problem is caused by dampness that allows certain toxic varieties of mold to grow in buildings. Many countries have homes that are exposed to mold and damp conditions for many months of the year. Look at Canada, for example. It’s wet quite often. We have the same here in New Zealand, especially in the South Island. We have a lot of rainfall. Island. England, lots of rainfall.

Modern building companies utilizing the latest building materials like to make buildings water tight and this often comes at an expense of poor ventilation and air flow, as homes today are extensively insulated against cold and wet. Many plastics and styrene have been used in housing construction, which can potentially breed mold. And as I mentioned, this coupled with defective construction, particularly from houses since the 1970s were built quite sloppy that can make mold a serious health problem. The popular warehouse conversions as I mentioned.

You need to be very careful. Ask yourself this question. If you go to somebody else’s house, does that cough disappear or that tickle in your throat? You feel you can breathe better because molds do create spores that float through the air attacking ear, nose and throat. In your house, as opposed to going on vacation or somebody else’s house, have you noticed a difference? Do you notice that you just feel more comfortable in someone else’s living environment as opposed to your own? Pay particular attention to that because that can be a red flag for mold or fungi floating in the air in your environment.

It’s a key thing that I’ve heard from people that when they go away, they don’t seem to have the allergies anymore or the tickle in the throat or the sneeze or the cough. Particularly people who spend a lot of time indoors or in certain rooms. If you find that you get these kind of irritations and you can’t work out why and you’ve tried to work on your diet and exclude any potential causes from your diet, but you still have these issues, then try to work out if it’s an environmental cause for this irritation that you get. Different rooms can cause different symptoms with people.

Carefully check around the carpets and look around the ceilings. If you can, get into the roof space with a torch or under the house, and have a good look for mold. There are telltale signs. Your symptoms may get worse. You may notice some black stuff around the skirting boards or around the architrave, the window frames, these are all signs of mold problems in your environment and you better do something about it. Because mold can make you very sick. Very sick, indeed. It’s been linked with autoimmune diseases and many people have even died from serious mold exposure.

That’s just a little bit of information for you on mold and your environment. Is it better when you’re away? Are the symptoms better? Get worse when you’re in your home? Are symptoms worse in damp, humid times of year when it’s raining perhaps? Maybe winter or fall? It’s better in summertime? Maybe you’re spending more time outside. Carefully think about that. That may really hold the clue for you to determine if your problems are really caused by mold in your environment. Of course, this is going to really aggravate an existing yeast infection. Thanks for tuning in.

Getting Rid Of Candida Parasites

Greetings. It’s New Zealand naturopath, Eric Bakker, author of Candida Crusher. Thank you for checking out my video today. I’ve got a question here from a lady called Jennifer Curry in Melbourne, Australia. Jennifer is wanting to know if she can quickly get rid of her parasites in a few weeks. She’s had a stool analysis, which has shown various kinds of parasites. Let’s talk a little bit about parasites in this video. A little bit about the different kinds and I’m going to talk a little bit about the three main areas of concern with parasites. And then further, I’ll go into what I believe is it possible to cure parasites in a very short period of time.

Parasites are very problematic for a lot of people. When people hear the word “parasite,” they immediately think about worms crawling all through the body. That comes to the mind of a lot of people. The word “parasite” makes me think about any kind of organism that’s feeding or living off its host in a relationship that’s not mutually beneficial. If it’s mutually beneficial, it’s symbiotic in taking and giving. But if they’re just taking, it’s a parasite. You might have heard the word “parasite” for some people because some people are parasites. They literally just take and take, but they give nothing back. It’s quite an awful word to use, the word “parasite.”

There are different kinds of parasites and there are worms. Tapeworms are quite a well-known parasite that can grow inside the body. And they can get quite big. They can get many, many feet long and they can live for many years. There’s also hookworms. There’s roundworms. There’s pinworms. For example, pinworms are quite common. I’m just reading here. The most common roundworm in the United States is the pinworm. Worldwide, roughly 209 million people are infected. The most common pinworm signs of infestation is anal itching at night. You probably have heard of this symptom, but maybe experienced it if you’ve got young children yourself. Because many children end up with pinworms. Quite easily treated by the way. Give the kids ground up pumpkin seeds, ground up beet root mixed with carrots, works quite well, and a couple of drops of grapefruit seed extract in a glass of water will have quite a beneficial effect on these sorts of bugs. Watch out for sugar. It’s a big one that will often continue these pinworms.

Blood flukes are very tiny little organisms. They first mature in snails and then they complete their life cycle by burrowing through human skin and swimming through into the veins. They have infected hundreds of millions of people worldwide. There are many species of flukes that are found living in the liver, the lungs, the pancreas. Very hard to diagnose flukes, but many people have them and don’t even know they have them.

Giardia, single cell organism, a little bit like Blastocystis hominis. These little bugs are commonly picked up like blasto when people go traveling. You may have heard of backpacker’s diarrhea or the quick step, all these sorts of names we give for diarrhea that can occur with travel. You have to be very careful, particularly eating things like salads or drinking water when you go to certain countries. So be very careful because it’s easy to pick up Blastocystis. Also from animals that are domesticated or undomesticated because it travels through the feces. Blastocystis is one of the most common of all parasites that I see in people. Parasites are a real problem. Many people have them and don’t even experience overt symptoms. They’ll just get a bit tired. Other people can have parasites and be completely wiped out. Almost like they’re on drugs. Like they’re on anti-psychotic medication. They can feel completely wasted, so you need to be careful.

Let’s look at the three core indications that could signify that you’ve got a parasite problem. The first one is chronic digestive issues. Many people we see with recurring digestive problems can well have a parasite sitting there. Candida, for example, I wouldn’t classify as a parasite because it isn’t an organism that normally occurs in a lot of people. But for many people, it overgrows. Chronic digestive problems can occur with parasites and with Candida as well.

The things I look for. I’ve written a list down here. Gas, bloating, fatigue, digestive pain, any kind of pain around the umbilical area, dull pain, shooting pains in the gut, lots of gas, serious constipation or diarrhea, especially lots of diarrhea and then periods of normal stool and a recurrence of these symptoms. Parasites live in cycles. Like humans live maybe 70 or 80 years, where parasites have got shorter life spans. They grow. They reproduce. They produce offspring. They die. And during these parts of these cycles, they can produce different kinds of symptoms. That’s why a symptom will never always stay the same. But chronic digestive issues, especially if they remain undiagnosed, think about parasites.

Various forms of mental and emotional distress. Cognitive dysfunction, can’t think clearly, get confused easily, very commonly occurs with parasite problems. Anxiety or depression very commonly occurs. How the heck could parasites cause these sorts of problems? Simple. It’s because the gut and the brain are connected. There is a big nerve called the vagus nerve that connects up your digestive system with the base of the brain. It works on what we call the limbic system or part of the stress access.

It’s very easy for us to have a problem in our digestive system that automatically gets transferred to the brain. We’ve got many different receptor sites in the gut that basically rely on the proper uptake of certain hormones produced in the gut that make the brain function properly. Serotonin, for example, and GABA, two important hormones that help us to balance our feelings. When we’ve got a lot of bugs, these receptor sites can’t work properly in the gut. Hormones can’t get taken up and facilitate their function properly and anxiety can occur.

I think I may have done a video explaining about tetracycline, a common antibiotic, was given to a group of people who went onto develop anxiety. This is in the states a few years ago. They did research on it. What they discovered was that the tetracycline blocked the receptors for GABA in the gut. GABA, gamma-aminobutyric acid, or a particular hormone that’s produced that helps us to balance anxiety, it couldn’t really be utilized properly, so people developed increasing anxiety on tetracycline. A clear example of the gut/brain connection.

Coming back to it again. It is possible for you to experience anxiety, depression, and mood swings with digestive problems, and especially parasites and a bad yeast infection. If you have got major anxiety disorder or depression or different kinds of mood disorders, a question I would ask you. Do you have digestive problems? If you say, yes, I have got them. Then I would recommend you get a stool test done to find out if there is any link there between these sort of things.

Autoimmune disorders. Very common. There are over 100 autoimmune disorders known. In fact, doctors have got no idea what causes autoimmune disorders. There are so many different kinds of autoimmune disorders and they create inflammation. They create pain. They create fatigue. They create cognitive and emotional dysfunctions. And usually the medical doctor will be giving steroids. They’ll be giving anti-depressants or sleeping pills or drugs like that. But they’re not interested in finding a cause because they don’t know what the cause is.

I’ve always been taught and found through clinical experience. If you can’t work out the root cause of something, what the hell are you doing if you think you’re going to give an accurate treatment because it’s not going to happen. You’re going to try to work out what went wrong with the patient. Autoimmune diseases often have their root cause in an infection. How do I know that? I know that from studying old medical books with autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. Where in a 1931 book, I spoke about this recently, where one of the professors said, “If you can’t work out why the patient has got this autoimmune disease, look for the hidden infection.” They were quite smart back then. This was just as drug companies were really developing.

If you have got an autoimmune disease, whether it’s Sjogren’s, or scleroderma or rheumatoid arthritis or Hashimoto’s thyroiditis or multiple sclerosis or any one of these diseases, try to do a stool test or get some advanced blood testing done. Try to find out if you’ve got any kind of hidden underlying infection or heavy metal toxicity. It could be one of a couple different causes. I found that diseased teeth can sometimes have a link to autoimmune problems. Finding the root cause is certainly a smart idea.

But now, the $64 question Jennifer’s asking “Can parasites be cured in a few weeks?” Well, I don’t think it’s possible to cure parasites in a couple of weeks or even a month or even two months for that matter. Any more than it’s possible to have an absolutely beautiful garden in that same period of time. I keep coming back to the analogy of the digestive system and the garden. Mainly because I’m a gardener. I love growing vegetables and fruits and nice grass and roses and things like that. I just enjoy it. It gives me a lot of satisfaction.

When you look at a garden, it takes a long time to cultivate it. Because you relying on a lot of factors. You’re relying on the weather. The garden needs to be tended to. You need to feed it. You need to weed it. You need to spray something on it. Whether it’s a drug or a natural thing to help balance fungus and pests and things like that. I tend to use sprays like neem. I tend to use seaweed sprays on the leaves to give beautiful lush growth. And people often comment how amazingly big the broccoli is and how incredible the beans grow. It’s all about the quality of the soil.

It’s the same in your system. It’s all about the quality of the blood and the digestive system. If those systems are in very good condition, the garden will tend to look after itself. As you know, it takes a long time to make a garden an absolutely beautiful place. It can take one to two years. That’s about the duration, I think, it takes to really get the gut balanced. Generally, between 6 to 12 months. It’s because you’re looking at a lot of factors that are in your control and not in your control. You can control what you eat, but sometimes you can’t control the stresses around you all that well, and they can certainly affect your inner garden. Those are factors I want you to remember.

When it comes to taking antibiotics or pharmaceutical aids to counter parasites, try to think of it a bit like spraying organophosphates, organochlorines, or carbonates or pesticides in your garden. You’ll get a fantastic effect but at a huge price. Side effects and disease are not uncommon when you use these chemical drugs in your garden. Why would you want to use chemical sprays on something you’re going to eat? You may as well drink the poison. It doesn’t make sense to me.

What are we going to do with the parasites? We need to make these changes to our inner garden. We need to feed the inner garden with the right kind of foods. We need to take away foods that help to encourage the proliferation and reproduction of parasites. You can read all about that on my blog at yeastinfection.org or look at my videos on that. Count on a good three, four, or six months of treatment for parasites.

Check out my product called Canxida Remove. It’s finally back on the market. You can get it at Canxida.com. It’s targeted for parasites, bad bacteria, and yeast infection and it does an awesome job of getting that balance back again. I hope that answers your question, Jennifer, about can you eradicate parasites in a few weeks. You can’t do it realistically. And if you think you can, I think you’re in fantasy land and you maybe need a reality check. Thanks for tuning in.
