What is candida cleanse? Should I do cleanse before candida diet?

What is a Candida cleanse? What does it mean? Is it a detox? What does this term mean? It’s a question I get asked from time to time by people in the clinic here. How can I clean myself up from Candida?

Well, a Candida cleanse in my mind is really an overall holistic program that you’re looking at. A detox does form part of it. Candida cleanse means to reduce the population in the body. It’s a pretty dumb idea to think that you can kill all the Candida or cleanse your body of all the yeast. You can’t do that anymore than you can clean your garden up of all the weeds and all the bacteria and have it all sterile. It just doesn’t work. The stuff is going to come in from all over the place.

Most people have got some element of Candida in their body that’s kept in check, kept in control by beneficial bacteria and by the natural physiological homeostatic balance mechanisms of the body, and there are many different systems that help to regulate your system and keep it perfectly balanced. Nature is quite complex, but it has very simple requirements. It’s something I’ve always been taught to believe.

So your body also has got very simple requirements in terms of food. Simple requirements in terms of rest and relaxation. Plenty of pure water. Plenty of fresh air. All the basic things that we’re taught as naturopaths to instill in our clients to get them to maintain optimal health. These are the things that help to cleanse the body from Candida. Not super-duper, way out crazy protocols or weird diets. It’s basic stuff, but many people don’t do the basic things right and that’s why they get themselves in problems. They go to bed too late. They eat too much sugar. They drink too much booze. They just overdo things. Tend to neglect the body. When you neglect the body, problems start happening.

When I think of the words Candida cleanse, I’m thinking more about the term Candida program, a holistic program. There are many different books out there that give you the promise of Candida cure. Yeast Infection No More is one of them. The Candida Diet is another one of them. The 24-Hour Yeast Cure is another one. There’s a whole bunch of them. Most of them all fall short of the mark.

I’m not trying to blow my own trumpet here, but what I’m trying to say is it took me three years to write a book where I looked at all aspects of cleansing the body from Candida. It was very important for me to explain to you that it’s not just a matter of eating foods, focusing on food, food, food all the time. That’s what the Candida Diet book does. It’s just basically a big food book. Yeast Infection No More book is a little bit better, but it lacks the most important parts that I’ve included in Candida Crusher. It lacks to put strong emphasis on the fact that stress and an imbalanced lifestyle is often what keeps the Candida going on and on in somebody’s body.

They may partially recover, but then they relapse again. And that’s the big problem with yeast infection is people don’t really put all the pieces of the puzzle together properly if they want to cleanse their body from the yeast infection.

What is good remedy for oral thrush?

Thanks for tuning in. Ive got a frequently asked question here. What is a good remedy for Candida on the tongue? How do I get my tongue all clean? How do I get all the film off my tongue? Its a question many people ask me when they come to see me with a Candida infection. How they can get their breath smelling sweet. How they can get their tongue looking nice and pink and clean.

Its not really that difficult to explain how to do that. But what I want you to try to understand is the way to get rid of this coating on the tongue and how to get the tongue pink is to think about the tongue as being the beginning or the entry of the digestive system because its really a part of your digestive system. So to get the tongue looking nice and clean, you really want to get your digestive system clean.

Its quite a silly idea to think if you just focus on the tongue and clean that maybe with a toothbrush or taking some antifungal drugs or something that youll clean up the tongue. You wont because the problem lies further down in the gut. Thats one thing I want to clear up right from the start. You need to get your digestive system all clean and sorted. You need to get the balance back with the beneficial bacteria.

Generally, when youve got a coating on the tongue, it means that youve got dysbiosis or poor bowel flora. The further down the back of the tongue the coating, the more likelihood its going to be the large intestine. The more towards the center of the tongue, the more likely its going to be the small intestine. Anything on the tip of the tongue usually is going to mean the stomachs got a problem. On the sides of the tongue, generally means the liver has got a problem. So if your liver is a bit fatty or not really healthy, youll have sort of scalloped edges. Go to the mirror and have a look at your tongue, poke it out and have a look at the different colors on the tongue and how far the color is situated back. Heavier coatings usually mean more of a problem. People with a big heavy coating often have a lot of gas and bloating to go along with it as well.

Lets give you a couple of tips now on really how to clear this sort of thing. One thing that you want to try to do is start to eat the beneficial foods, foods that are going to help to clean the digestive system up. Cultured and fermented foods. You will have heard about all these kind of diets like a body ecology diet. Theres many different types of diets like that. These sorts of diets really focus on wanting you to eat more foods like kefir and yogurt and sauerkraut and kimchee. These are foods that have been cultured or fermented like sauerkraut. Foods that are rich in lactic acid. Lactic acid has a very good cleansing effect on the gut and it promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria, which really help to clean the tongue up.

Theres nothing wrong with giving the tongue a bit of a scrub with a toothbrush. You can even get a toothbrush when you reverse it; its got sort of ripples on the one side where you can actually rub it over the tongue. Thats going to stimulate the digestive system a little bit like when you stimulate the different points on the hand or the feet like reflexology. Youll stimulate the corresponding body parts. I believe that the tongue is the same. If you stimulate the tongue, you stimulate the bowel. And also its good for constipation to stimulate the tongue.

A little bit of apple cider vinegar, if you get an organic one, in water, rinse the mouth with that once or twice per day. Lemon juice on the tongue has a good cleansing effect. A couple of drops of water-soluble or just plain tea tree oil on your toothbrush. Brush your teeth with that, but also brush the tongue lightly with the tea tree oil. Thats going to have a cleansing effect.

There are different antifungal herbs you can get like calendula. Calendula is an herb that is an antifungal. Rinsing your mouth with a bit of water and calendula will help to clear anything on the inside. A couple of drops of grapefruit seed extract in a little bit of lemon juice, rinsing your mouth thoroughly with that. Oil pulling. You may want to look up some YouTube videos on oil pulling because oil pulling with coconut oil has a nice way of keeping the tongue and gums all clean there as well.

Digestive enzymes particularly taken for the stomach and pancreas will help clear the tongue as well. Avoiding junk and take away food, alcohol, soda drinks and sugar. Thats going to help significantly get the tongue nice and pink again. Chewing food properly, another very beneficial thing you can do.

So theres a couple of hints and tips on how you can keep the tongue clean, but the easiest thing to remember is if you eat clean, youre going to feel clean. Your tongue is going to be clean. If you eat crap, your tongue will look like crap. Its as simple as that.

Can candida cause brain fog? Or mental confusion?

Thank you for checking out this video. What is Candida brain fog? I often get asked by people. Why is my brain feel like cotton wool and more foggy up there? I’ve got mental confusion. I can’t think clearly. I seem to be in a world of my own. I feel stoned or spaced out. Eric, help me out. I’m a bit worried here. Brain fog is a term that’s used by people when there’s a certain element of mental confusion where they can’t really think clearly or rationally. They don’t know what the heck’s going on.

There are many reasons why you could be feeling like this that may not be Candida related. We could be looking at heavy metal toxicity. Mercury, for example, in higher amounts can cause brain fog and it commonly does. The term “mad as a hatter” came from years ago when people used to use mercury for putting felt inside hats, and hat makers used to go crazy because the mercury would cause neuro toxicity.
If you’ve got brain fog, a hair analysis is probably quite a good idea to determine what your level of mercury is or cadmium or arsenic or lead, one of those four sulfhydryl metals is very important to determine if you’ve got heavy metal toxicity. High calcium levels, low potassium and low zinc levels are often found in a hair analysis as well. This will give you an indication also if you’ve got a copper imbalance. A copper imbalance is something that is commonly found, too. Zinc to copper ratios can be pretty screwed up in people with bad mental confusion.

The other thing with brain fog, probably much more common that I see in the clinic, is bowel toxemia or toxins in the bowel, so bad bacteria producing indoles and skatoles and cadaverine and various types of chemicals that get liberated in the blood stream by these bacteria that get into the brain. Lack of beneficial bacteria is the number one cause of brain fog, I can tell you now. It’s not Candida. It’s the lack of beneficial bacteria.

How do I know this? Well, I’ve completed many, many, many hundreds of stool tests over the years, over 1,000 stool tests on Candida patients, and in most cases, when the patient had severe brain fog, I found NG or null growth on the lacto bacillus species, no growth, none. We couldn’t detect any on culture. The people with the lowest beneficial bacteria levels had the worst brain fog of all.
Some of these people didn’t even have Candida. We couldn’t culture it in these people, but because they had such low beneficial bacteria, it allowed the bad bacteria to go crazy. It’s a little bit like the police or the military presence isn’t there and these ISIS militants or these crazy terrorists just get out of control and start dropping bombs and chopping people up.

The bad bacteria in your bowel can do a similar thing. They create a lot of gases and by products that can make you feel all spaced out in the presence of low beneficial bacteria. You really need to get the beneficial bacteria up when you’ve got brain fog. And sometimes, it’s not just a matter of taking probiotics because probiotics can make some people much worse. You may be one of those people watching this video now with brain fog. You took a probiotic and got 10 times worse. This is where you need to get expert help from somebody to really determine what’s going on in the bowel, what level of beneficial bacteria you’ve got and commensals, which are what we call transitional bacteria going from good or bad and the bad guys you’ve got. This needs to be determined first before we can decide what we’re going to do.

I can tell you now. Brain fog can be cured 100 percent. I’ve helped many hundreds of patients get rid of their brain fog. I’ve got really, really grateful patients as a result. Because you can’t work, you can’t even drive a car sometimes when your brain fog is that bad.

Let’s just recap on that. Check for heavy metals. Urinalysis is probably a good thing to do if you’ve got brain fog. Check for gut dysbiosis. Make sure that you do a stool test and a hair test if you’ve got severe brain fog. These are two very clever things to do to give you an indication on what’s going on. There’s no doubt 20 other reasons why people have brain fog, but what I just mentioned in this video is a very good explanation of some of the prime causes of brain fog and what you can do about it.
