Special foods to get rid of candida

Good day, Eric Bakker, naturopath, author of Candida Crusher.

A question I get asked quite regularly from time to time is Eric, are there any special foods or special drinks of any particular foods I can eat that are going to help wipe out or kill or eradicate my yeast infection?

Well, in fact, there are. There are six in particular I’m going to talk about. When you think about it, everybody seems to want to have a focus on diet or supplementation when it comes to wiping out yeast infection. You know the latest and greatest probiotic; the best digestive enzyme; maybe a prescriptive like Nystatin. So people are always looking to take things to get rid of yeast. We all know that a diet high in sugars, alcohol, refined carbohydrates, is not a good idea with a yeast infection. And it’s often one of the big causes along with antibiotic prescriptions.

So then what we do is we stop eating those foods and we take some natural supplements to think we’re going to eradicate the yeast infection. When you think about it for a minute, doesn’t it make more sense to look at incorporating special foods, or what I call Candida Crushing foods, into your diet to help eradicate a yeast infection?

A long time ago, there lived a guy called Hypocrites and he said, “Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food.” So doesn’t it make sense to incorporate some of these medicinal foods into your diet to help wipe out Candida? It makes a lot of sense to me. So I’m going to do some more videos on these particular types of foods in depth.

So what are these particular types of foods I’m talking about? Well, garlic, obviously, is one of the primary foods I’m going to mention. The allium family in general; red onions, brown onions, shallots, spring onions, leaks, garlic obviously belongs to allium, and we’ll talk about the allium family. Oregano, or some people call it Oregano, is a very key medicinal herb used. Clove; clove is quite a powerful compound to use as well. Coconut; coconut crème, milk and oil; coconut is one of my favorite products to incorporate in my diet. So these are several things that you can put into your diet.

So when you think about it, by incorporating these foods in to your diet on a regular basis, along with getting rid of these foods that help to encourage yeast in conjunction with fermented and cultured foods, you’re going to have an excellent effect in wiping out Candida.

So remember what I’ve always said, 80/20 rule. Eighty percent of your focus needs to be on lifestyle and diet; 20 percent on supplementation. Supplementation is a very important part of yeast eradication, but it is not really the major focus. It’s the icing on the cake. Cake’s nice, but when you put icing on it, it tastes a heck of a lot better. And it’s the same when it comes to crushing Candida. So check out my other videos on these particular types of foods.

So I hope that answers your question. There certainly are good foods to help eradicate a yeast infection.

My children has diaper rash is it candida?

Thanks for tuning in. Is diaper rash Candida? Do babies get yeast infections? Of course they do. Babies get yeast infections quite a lot. If you think about the diaper how it sits there around the baby’s backside and genital region, it’s all sort of contained there with moisture and the heat; it’s a perfect breeding ground for yeast.

Yeast is very common with children. They often get oral thrush and they also get diaper rash, too. The way to get rid of that really is to make sure the diaper is changed frequently. If it’s quite a severe irritation around the area, I recommend that you change a diaper much more regularly using cotton diapers for a while, is quite a good idea. Other people disagree. They say that the disposables are better because they wick the water or take it more away from the skin. The choice is yours really, but the thing is to keep the area dry and clean and frequent changes.

There are different antifungal powders you can use, natural ones you can get from the health food shop as well. Sunlight exposure is another good idea. A bit of calendula cream on the area is going to help as well, but the main thing is dryness and cleanliness.

Also look at the diet of the baby because you may be giving the infant a formula containing a lot of sugar, so many formulas contain large amounts of sugar. And if you find that to be a problem, you might want to switch formulas. You may want to use goat’s milk, for example. Just check the sugar content if you’re using any powders, and if you’re breastfeeding, also make sure that you yourself have not got a diet high in sugars that can contribute to that.

Have more fats in the diet if you’re breastfeeding. Avocados are very good breastfeeding food. Tahini, which is a ground sesame seed paste. Various oils in your diet. Maybe some flax seed oil is going to help a lot, too. Also fish like sardines or tuna with some fats in them. These things are very good for fortifying the breast milk up.

So just be careful what the baby is being fed, number one; and number two, make sure the diaper is changed frequently and a bit of sunlight exposure onto the area. These are all things that are going to help to overcome this diaper rash, and diaper rash is usually fungal in origin.

So I hope that answers your question. Thank you.

Can baking soda help with candida infection?

Thank you for tuning in. Is baking soda and molasses good for Candida? What a weird question. Who would want to mix baking soda and molasses together for Candida, for a yeast infection? I get all these emails from people with wacky cures for Candida. One guy recommends to put a little bit of battery acid in water, just a teaspoon, and drink that. People come up with the craziest ideas on how to eradicate Candida. Crazy people often have crazy ideas.

Why the hell would you want to have molasses with yeast infection or even mix it with something like sodium bicarbonate, baking soda? It’s not really a good idea. People have got this weird idea that if they neutralize the acidity in the body, if they adjust the pH with things like bicarbonate, for example, that they can eradicate Candida. It’s pretty dumb. It doesn’t really work. It’s not going to work at all.

The only way you’re going to eradicate Candida properly is by a multi-stage approach, which I’ve talked about many times on my videos. Lifestyle, diet, looking at stresses in your life, taking an antifungal kind of an approach, to both diet and a supplement, and then just being persistent and persistent long enough. Looking at how you live and all these sorts of things need adjusting. Just with swallowing a drink with a concoction or something is not going to work. These are silver bullets and magic cures that people seem to think are going to work. It’s almost as crazy as thinking you can cure Candida in 12 hours. Weird.

Definitely don’t take molasses, bicarbonate or baking soda. I take it the person is meaning bicarbonate soda, we can use sometimes for neutralizing things in the body like over acidity in the gut, but I would use bicarbonate of soda to clean out the source. But if there’s a bit of burn in there – my wife does that. She’ll put some water in there, a bit of bicarbonate and then heat that up. I wouldn’t use bicarbonate for other reasons. Some people claim it even cures cancer.

It’s up to you. If you want to believe these sorts of things and try them out, but often people argue who’ve tried these things out send me emails saying you had major aggravations or severe die off. When you’re going to try these crazy things, there is a possibility you’re going to get a crazy result, and it’s generally not in your favor either. The crazy result will often be a major aggravation.

I wouldn’t recommend you try the baking soda approach with molasses. It’s not really a good idea. I hope that answers your question.

Thank you.
