Is there a connection between candida and adrenal fatigue?

Today I’d like to talk a little bit about one of the main underlying reasons why many people never recover from a yeast infection, particularly a chronic yeast infection, and that is adrenal fatigue. You may be able to read some more information on adrenal fatigue in my book, Candida Crusher, or on our website yeastinfection.org. You can also find a lot more information on adrenalfatigue.co.nzed. There are many good articles on this website, also my good friend, Dr. James Wilson, on Dr. Wilson’s site, adrenalfatigue.org. There’s plenty of good information on that site as well.

So adrenal fatigue is a condition that’s absolutely endemic. It’s very, very relevant to discuss adrenal fatigue when it comes to poor recovery from a yeast infection. Many conventional doctors don’t even believe adrenal fatigue exists. They prefer to treat all the manifestations of stress like headaches, period pain, low libido and insomnia. There is a very long list. So when naturopathic physicians like me come up with conditions to their patients and say, “Look, I think you’re suffering from adrenal fatigue.” The doctors roll their eyes and laugh and say, “Oh, here we go. Another condition that has all the symptoms involved, and if we treat this then all will be well.”

Well, I can tell you this much. I’ve treated now almost 7,000 patients, particularly with Dr. Wilson’s protocol regarding adrenal fatigue, and seen astounding results, very good recoveries from yeast infections. Even people who’ve been sick for 10, 15, 20 years with a yeast infection, whether it be jock itch or a vaginal yeast infection, chronic ongoing yeast infections of many different natures. For example, digestive problems and skin problems.

Many times practitioners will only treat these conditions symptomatically. Even the very best naturopathic doctors will treat these things by giving anti-fungal products to kill the Candida, but they don’t really adequately address the patient’s lifestyle and their stress levels. I’ve always maintained that recovery from any chronic condition is 80 percent lifestyle and diet related, 20 percent supplement or medication related. So you need to spend over three quarters of your time trying to understand the reasons why you got this condition, looking at the underlying causes. I treat patients all day. I’ve done so now for 26 years. I treat many people on Skype and on Face time. I get them here face-to-face in my clinic. I get them on the telephone. And I can tell you one thing; many people have got one underlying problem that prevents their recovery, one underlying problem. Have a think about that for a moment.

You’ve heard me speak about the exciting cause or often what will begin a yeast infection, and there are also the maintaining causes or the reasons why these keep on going. The exciting cause can be something like an antibiotic; they’re very common, many cases start with an antibiotic. It can also be a trauma. It could be a root canal. It could be an operation. It could be a series of strong emotional events, particularly punctuated by infections and antibiotics. The exciting cause can be one or two smaller causes, but the maintaining causes are often something like adrenal fatigue. The ongoing, continuing unremitting stress that patients suffer from their day-to-day life will drag their immune system down, will continue a bacterial infection, will continue a yeast infection, or make them more susceptible to parasite infections and small intestinal bowel overgrowth.

And what happens? They go to the doctor. They get put on more medications. They don’t recover. They go to the naturopath or the chiropractor. What do they get? They get more symptom treatment. So unless you’re really looking carefully at your own particular case longitudinally, understanding these exciting and maintaining causes, and particularly understanding the full effects of adrenal fatigue on your health, you may just be treating symptoms for 20, 30 years or more, drifting from doctor to doctor, looking for answers, only getting temporary symptomatic results. These are the cases I deal with every day.

So I’d like you to read more information on adrenal fatigue and have a good think about it. Think about if you can relate to adrenal fatigue, whether it is affecting you, and whether it is an impediment or an obstacle to cure when it comes to your yeast infection.

One Good Remedy For White Coated Tongue

Thanks for tuning in. Ive got a frequently asked question here. What is a good remedy for Candida on the tongue? How do I get my tongue all clean? How do I get all the film off my tongue? Its a question many people ask me when they come to see me with a Candida infection. How they can get their breath smelling sweet. How they can get their tongue looking nice and pink and clean.

Its not really that difficult to explain how to do that. But what I want you to try to understand is the way to get rid of this coating on the tongue and how to get the tongue pink is to think about the tongue as being the beginning or the entry of the digestive system because its really a part of your digestive system. So to get the tongue looking nice and clean, you really want to get your digestive system clean.

Its quite a silly idea to think if you just focus on the tongue and clean that maybe with a toothbrush or taking some antifungal drugs or something that youll clean up the tongue. You wont because the problem lies further down in the gut. Thats one thing I want to clear up right from the start. You need to get your digestive system all clean and sorted. You need to get the balance back with the beneficial bacteria.

Generally, when youve got a coating on the tongue, it means that youve got dysbiosis or poor bowel flora. The further down the back of the tongue the coating, the more likelihood its going to be the large intestine. The more towards the center of the tongue, the more likely its going to be the small intestine. Anything on the tip of the tongue usually is going to mean the stomachs got a problem. On the sides of the tongue, generally means the liver has got a problem. So if your liver is a bit fatty or not really healthy, youll have sort of scalloped edges. Go to the mirror and have a look at your tongue, poke it out and have a look at the different colors on the tongue and how far the color is situated back. Heavier coatings usually mean more of a problem. People with a big heavy coating often have a lot of gas and bloating to go along with it as well.

Lets give you a couple of tips now on really how to clear this sort of thing. One thing that you want to try to do is start to eat the beneficial foods, foods that are going to help to clean the digestive system up. Cultured and fermented foods. You will have heard about all these kind of diets like a body ecology diet. Theres many different types of diets like that. These sorts of diets really focus on wanting you to eat more foods like kefir and yogurt and sauerkraut and kimchee. These are foods that have been cultured or fermented like sauerkraut. Foods that are rich in lactic acid. Lactic acid has a very good cleansing effect on the gut and it promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria, which really help to clean the tongue up.

Theres nothing wrong with giving the tongue a bit of a scrub with a toothbrush. You can even get a toothbrush when you reverse it; its got sort of ripples on the one side where you can actually rub it over the tongue. Thats going to stimulate the digestive system a little bit like when you stimulate the different points on the hand or the feet like reflexology. Youll stimulate the corresponding body parts. I believe that the tongue is the same. If you stimulate the tongue, you stimulate the bowel. And also its good for constipation to stimulate the tongue.

A little bit of apple cider vinegar, if you get an organic one, in water, rinse the mouth with that once or twice per day. Lemon juice on the tongue has a good cleansing effect. A couple of drops of water-soluble or just plain tea tree oil on your toothbrush. Brush your teeth with that, but also brush the tongue lightly with the tea tree oil. Thats going to have a cleansing effect.

There are different antifungal herbs you can get like calendula. Calendula is an herb that is an antifungal. Rinsing your mouth with a bit of water and calendula will help to clear anything on the inside. A couple of drops of grapefruit seed extract in a little bit of lemon juice, rinsing your mouth thoroughly with that. Oil pulling. You may want to look up some YouTube videos on oil pulling because oil pulling with coconut oil has a nice way of keeping the tongue and gums all clean there as well.

Digestive enzymes particularly taken for the stomach and pancreas will help clear the tongue as well. Avoiding junk and take away food, alcohol, soda drinks and sugar. Thats going to help significantly get the tongue nice and pink again. Chewing food properly, another very beneficial thing you can do.

So theres a couple of hints and tips on how you can keep the tongue clean, but the easiest thing to remember is if you eat clean, youre going to feel clean. Your tongue is going to be clean. If you eat crap, your tongue will look like crap. Its as simple as that.

Thanks for tuning in.

How long does it take for me to finally overcome candida die off?

Thank you for checking out this YouTube channel and thank you for tuning into this video today. Heres a question Ive been asked from a lady in Australia. How long is Candida die off? How long does it take for me to finally overcome these dreadful feelings that Ive got a die off?

Ive done a few videos on Candida die off and lets get one thing straight. Are you sure that its Candida die off? Are you sure its not something else? Many people I see and have consultations with swear that theyre getting Candida die off, but in fact theyre not getting that at all. Theyre getting a totally different reaction. Theyre getting a detox reaction or theyre getting a reaction to a change in diet or theyre getting a change in the way they feel because theyve withdrawn certain foods from the diet.

So there are different reasons why you could be getting the feelings that youre getting, and you may misconstrue these feelings and believe that its actually what we call a Herxheimer Reaction or a die off. True die off occurs when lots of Candida die and release their contents into the digestive system. Not in the bloodstream. Youre not going to kill millions of Candida in the bloodstream and theyre going to create a toxic reaction. Its usually always in the gut.

When that occurs, you can feel pretty sick and toxic. Normally, its going to last anywhere between two days up to about 10 days. Generally, I would find five to seven days, and usually the first 24 to 72 hours are the most intense and toxic experience, and then it will taper off, then youll feel fine again.

How can you avoid die off? You can avoid die off with common sense like anything in life, but remember, Ive told you guys this before. Common sense isnt very common with a lot of people out there who are treating for Candida.

If youve got severe Candida, if youve got major brain fog, if you feel spaced out and youve got joint pain and youre very sick, youre tired, youve got a lot of gut problems, then you need to be very careful when you start on a course of treatment, particularly a strong antifungal treatment. If you go too quickly into something and take like a mega dose, there is a possibility youre going to set yourself up for a fall. Youre going to feel pretty crappy. What you want to do is go into it nice and slowly, nice and gently.

I look at the sensitivity of the patient. I mentioned before there are three types of patients I see. Theres the normal people like me and you most probably. They account probably for about 75 to 80 percent of people, and these people dont usually have violent reactions to things that they take. They can take B vitamins. They can take fish oils. They can take multivitamins, vitamin C; they can take all sorts of things. Theyre not allergic to pharmaceuticals. They dont generally react to things quickly. They can generally find that they wont usually experience die off, and if they do, its very mild.

The people who experience die off the most are the ones who are sensitive and particularly what I call the supersensitive. The supersensitive are people that react to everything in life. They can take one vitamin C tablet and feel sick for two days. They can take a B vitamin and they can have like a bad headache or not sleep for two or three days. Theyve got known allergies and reactions to multiple foods, chemicals, drugs, all sorts of things. If you know that youre very, very sensitive, then you need to be very, very careful if youve got Candida because youre the person most likely to experience the strongest reaction when you go on the correct course of treatment.

The regular patient will not experience this unless they do something dumb like take 50 antifungal tablets in one day, which some people do, by the way. Ive had some patients take 30 to 60, even 90 tablets per day thinking that theyre going to get rid of it fast. Theres no real benefit to that. All youre going to do is make yourself feel sick.

How do you know youre not experiencing an aggravation in terms of your diet? How do you know youre not experiencing a withdrawal from caffeine or another food? Many people who start on an anti-Candida approach make multiple changes at the onset too quick, too soon, too many. That is a silly thing to do because then youre not really sure where these feelings are coming from. Lets just say you were drinking three or four cups of coffee a day or five or six and you stop all of a sudden, you started to change your food quite rapidly in the same week and you took an antifungal and perhaps a probiotic all in the same week and then you get sick and then you turn around to me and say, “Its a die off.” Well, hang on a minute. What about the caffeine reaction? Maybe that could account for the skull-piercing headache you had for three days. What about the fact that you stopped bread or gluten all of a sudden? That could make the gut change. Bowel flora can change quite rapidly, too, with a diet change and that can make you feel quite spaced out, sick and bloating.

If you really want to know whether youve got die off or not is make the diet change very, very slowly and then very slowly introduce an antifungal. If you really want to know whether its die off or not, dont make any changes to the diet, just take the antifungal itself and then maybe take three or even four, even six doses per day. If you experience bad feelings with the antifungal medication, this could well be related to die off, but dont get confused. Too many people I see get confused and dont really understand what die off is. If its true die off, its going to last as I mentioned between two days to about seven to ten days max, but normally around five or six days.

I hope that answers your question. Thank you.
