Making lifestyle changes for faster candida recovery

Greetings, Eric Bakker, naturopath, author of Candida Crusher. Thanks for tuning into my video today.

Today, I’d like to talk about making change. Undergoing some changes in your life to see if that is going to be effective in helping you to shift your chronic yeast infection.

Many people come to see me regarding Candida yeast infections, and they think that they can maybe make a diet change or take a few supplements and that’s going to help cure their Candida. And in some cases it works, but in many chronic cases, it simply won’t work. So they’ll come back time and again and try different supplements or maybe different diet changes or undergo this test or that test or maybe even change practitioners. But the sad matter is many times they’ll come back in many years and say, “Eric, I’ve still got this yeast infection. What am I not doing right?” And in some cases, these patients need to make a change.

You’ve probably heard the saying that “change is as good as a holiday.” An interesting thing that’s come to my attention in many chronic cases is when patients shift, they move house, maybe they live in another part of the country, maybe they even shift the country entirely, maybe they get rid of their job, maybe they get rid of their partner, maybe they get rid of their mother-in-law, maybe they get rid of some kind of stress in their life.

Living in New Zealand now, I’ve seen lots of patients move to England or America or Europe or different countries, even Australia, and then after several years, come back again. And in quite a few of these cases, I’ve seen people shift chronic – not only yeast infections, but many other chronic conditions that they’ve held for many years. And they’ve found that when they move to the country, got a new job, maybe a new relationship, new friendships with people, that their condition disappeared entirely. Isn’t that strange?

Now we’re all creatures of habit and most of us tend to gravitate around the same kinds of diets. In a lot of these cases, the people would’ve consumed a similar kind of diet. In some cases, though, I’ve had people say to me, “I could even drink alcohol or eat fruit or eat bread again, and my yeast infection disappeared. How did that happen? How did that happen, Eric? How come it disappeared and yet when I lived in New Zealand or wherever and I lived in a certain pattern for many years, it wouldn’t shift?” Well, in my experience, it’s because that person got rid of some kind of big stress in their life.

Now stress is one of the best-kept secrets to understand if you want to shift a chronic yeast infection or chronic psoriasis or chronic colitis or chronic heart disease or chronic whatever you got. If you’ve got a chronic illness you want to shift, you might want to think about shifting some kind of stress in your life.

Now, you may have seen some of my other videos. The biggest stresses in our lives are interpersonal stresses or emotional stresses. So relationships that we hold with other people can sometimes cause us a lot of stress. Think about one particular person in your life now that’s really causing you a lot of stress, and I’ll bet you that a lot of you people out there can immediately think about one particular person. It could be your employer or employee. It could be your mother-in-law. It could be your husband or wife. It could be your teenager. It could be the next-door neighbor. I bet you there’s someone that’s causing you stress.

Now those sorts of stresses are quite incredible in terms of their effect on your health a lot more than “Is this food organic? Can this vitamin C cause gut irritation?” Many people start to look too close at home with tangible, physical things that manifest stress in their body, but they don’t look at the emotional causes of stress.

So that’s a bit of food for thought for you today. Think about something that’s really getting up your nose, causing you a lot of problems, something that you worry about, have anxiety about, those are the sort of things that I want you to consider carefully if you can’t shake a chronic yeast infection.

Dr. Edward Bach, a very famous doctor who lived in England in the 1920s, gave a public address on the emotional causes of stress in London, and he was virtually laughed at. Because back in those days, they had no belief that stress caused any kind of physical problem. But one of Bach’s favorite quotations is “No true healing can take place unless there is a change in a person’s outlook, their mode of living, their way of life.”

Maybe you need to make some changes if you can’t shake that chronic yeast infection. So that’s a bit of food for thought for you today. Thank you for tuning into my video.

Is parasite a sign of candida yeast infection? Can parasites cause candida?

Greetings, Eric Bakker, naturopath, author of Candida Crusher.

Today, I’d like to do a video about parasites. Particularly about Blastocystis hominis and Dientamoeba fragilis. Now those names maybe sound a bit funny to you, and some people may even think that I’m reading a few lines out of Harry Potter or a book like that. But I can tell you now; I’m not really talking about witchcraft or giving you any false leads here.

Blastocystis hominis is a very common parasite found in third-world countries. But not just third world, we find it also in many western countries. In fact, it’s estimated that 25 to 30 percent of people with irritable bowel syndrome have a Blasto infection, so they’re relatively common. These are tiny little parasites and just like Candida albicans, Blasto lives in the digestive system of many, many different people, many healthy people, but it lives in balance and it’s kept in check by the beneficial bacteria. But when out of balance, Blasto can create a lot of problems for people.

Many times I pick up Blastocystis hominis on a stool test. It’s relatively common. This is why I’m a big fan of CDSA times three or Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis times three stool samples. Stool is collected on three concurrent days and checked. So you can see on the screen the link now. You want to take note of that link. If you’re interested in doing a stool test, you can work with that link and get a stool test performed much cheaper than you will through your doctor. Let’s have a little bit more of a look at Blasto, what it is, what it does, how we can eradicate it, and take it from there.

How do you know you’ve got a Blasto infection or a Dientamoeba infection? How would you know? You don’t really know because the symptoms are quite similar to a chronic yeast infection. They can be bloating, gas, irritability, you can have lots of mushy stools, you can even have explosive diarrhea. Constipation can alternate with diarrhea. So you may think that you, in fact, have got a Candida infection, but you could well have a Blastocystis infection. The only real way you’re going to find out is by doing a stool test. And oftentimes, you’ll find that if you have got Blasto in all three stool samples, you’ve probably got Candida as well and other kinds of bacteria and parasites.

We haven’t got enough time in this video to explain stool testing in detail. When we do a stool test, we can check for the beneficial bacteria, the commensals, and the pathogenic, the bad bacteria. The commensals can go either way. I call them the “politicians” of the gut. They can go good if there’s good people around. They can go bad if there’s bad people around, so they’re influenced by what’s occurring around them to a degree. But Blasto in great numbers is very bad, and they create a lot of problems with people, lots of headaches and tiredness, and an increasing amount of food allergies.

Many people I see with chronic Blasto infections, in fact, they’ve got their diet down to five or six foods. They think they’ve got really big problems with food allergies. They can even have bits of blood coming out in their stool or mucus. They can feel completely stoned or spaced out and feel very sick. These are very sick patients when they’ve got severe Blasto infections. And I’ve had many people contact me from around the world thinking they have Candida when, in fact, they have a Blasto infection.

How do we treat Blasto? How do we eradicate this thing? Doctors will tell you, in fact, that Blasto infections don’t really cause anything apart from diarrhea. Some doctors I’ve spoken to say, “Well, it’s a bit of a nuisance infection, but it doesn’t cause any problem.” The problem is it causes a real problem with people because the recurrence rates are high. We can nail this thing. Seventy-five to 90 percent we can eradicate, but the recurrence rate is quite grave on it. That’s why I usually say retest after several months with effective treatment.

There’s medical treatment, pharmaceutical; we’ll often use what I call triple therapy, three drugs, a bit like Helicobacter infection; and there’s natural treatment. Natural treatment, of course, is what I’m going to promote. Grapefruit seed extract is one of my favorites for Blasto infections, so you may want to look at another video I’ve completed on grapefruit seed extract to hear me talk more about that one. Suffice it to say, this is a serious problem. You may not have Candida. You may have Blasto.

Dientamoeba fragilis is another bug which you often find with Blasto – quite similar – it creates the same problems. You can get on top of it. The recurrence rate is high, but don’t give up. It will often need two or three treatments to successfully eradicate it.

So I hope that was some good information there for you today. Thanks for tuning in.

Is vaginal itching and vaginal odor symptom of candida yeast infection?

Good day, Eric Bakker, naturopath, author of Candida Crusher.

I often get asked by different women many questions regarding vaginal yeast infections. One or two key symptoms which many talk about that is quite embarrassing for them is the vaginal odor and the terrible vaginal itch. Many woman seem to get this, and some women who’ve had Skype consultations with me tend to be very embarrassed about this. That’s why I’m speaking a bit softer. They get very embarrassed. And some women actually think that this condition is caused because they’re unclean. And other women think it’s because they’ve got poor social standing. There are all these reasons why they think they’ve got this terrible itch and this terrible odor. Any woman can get potentially this condition. And while many women will get this maybe once or twice in their lifetime, some women experience this all the time, and it drives them literally crazy and they want to know how to get on top of this problem.

In my book, Candida Crusher, I’ve got a nice little chart here which I’ve made for you. I’ll just show you here. You may be able to see this chart. This chart is in Section 5 on chronic vaginal infections. Signs and symptoms of vaginal infections and inflammations. So I’m just going to run over a couple of things with you now to show you which of these vaginal conditions can give you a tremendous itch and have quite a strong odor.

So we know that Candida yeast infections can have a yeasty or musty odor and can have an incredible itch about them, an itch that can drive you literally crazy.

Herpes is another condition which can affect the female vaginal area. It can cause tremendous itching, but there’s no odor associated with a herpes infection.

Trichomoniasis is a parasite or what we call a “Trich”. This can also have an itch, but not quite as severe as the Candida. This can have a very foul or strong-smelling discharge. The discharge with Trichomoniasis, though, tends to be more frothy or green. It’s not really white or creamy like the vaginal yeast infection.

Gardnerella vaginalis is another particular type of bacterial infection, what we call BV. With Gardnerella, you’re not generally going to have an itch with it, and the smell can be a bit fishy or briny in this condition. And some women actually get bacterial vaginosis mixed up with the yeast infection, although the yeast is not really bacteria, so it’s a different kind of an infection.

Itchy or irritable vulva can also be caused by a sexually transmitted disease called Gonorrhea, although it’s much less common.

But the point I’m making here is it’s important for you to get diagnosed and checked out to see if you’ve got a vaginal yeast infection or a bacterial infection called bacterial vaginosis.

I offer many solutions for BV and for Candida yeast infections in my book, Candida Crusher. So in Chapter 5, it explains all about that, and it’s good for you to get on top of this odor and itch because it can drive people crazy.

I’ve had incredible phone calls from women crying and Skype consultations. One woman recently whose relationship fell apart because of the terrible odor and the itch. And I’ve had many other women ranging from 18 right up to ‘60s, hundreds of them over the years, very upset and distraught with recurring infections, getting nowhere with medical treatment; and for those women, I’ve written this chapter.

So if you’re serious about getting rid of the vaginal infection, get a copy of the book. You’re sure to get a good result. So there’s no need to put up with embarrassing smell, this terrible itch, and a condition that could literally wreck your life and your relationship. So get onto your chronic infection now because there’s plenty you can do about them.

Thank you.
