Can you recommend a good home remedy and treatment for candida?

Good day there, Eric Bakker, naturopath, author of Candida Crusher. Another question for you, which I get asked every now and then.

Is there anything I can do at home to cure my yeast infection?

Well, there are lots of things you can do at home. And if you’re talking about a vaginal yeast infection, I’m just going to read you a small section out of my book, Candida Crusher.

So I look at a three-stage approach when it comes to vaginal yeast infections. Stage 1 is reducing inflammation, wiping out bacteria and the yeast infection. Stage 2 is cleanse and restore, return acid alkaline balance back to normal. Stage 3 is to sooth the irritation and calm any itching or burning skin.

So this is a section out of my Quick Start Guide, which is the fourth chapter in the book. The Stage 1 is an anti-fungal and anti-bacterial douche you can use. And a thing you may want to try is use New Zealand’s Manuka Honey with a high UMF factor or unique Manuka factor, which is a very powerful anti-bacterial, anti-fungal action that this honey has. So you would use one to two tablespoons of this honey warmed up. You can add a couple of cloves of finely chopped garlic to this honey and just gently warm it. And you would apply this honey to the affected area vaginally, and you would leave that there for about 30 minutes or longer for the action to take place. It’s very soothing.

After you’ve completed Stage 1, you can give the area a good clean and a good rinse with some apple cider vinegar. This is the cleansing douche. So two tablespoons to a small bowl of warm water, add one teaspoon of a good quality colloidal silver. Again, you just give that area a good cleanse and a good wash, dry gently with a soft towel, and use a hair dryer to dry completely.

And then the third stage would be the soothing, calming for the irritated and burning skin would be to use yogurt cleanse. So you could apply yogurt to the area. Just get a small carton of low fat, high-quality yogurt and apply this to the area and leave that there. You leave that there, again, for a little while or you can even leave it overnight if you use an applicator to insert. You could use a large maxi pad and leave the yogurt for several hours.

This three-stage approach is a very nice, soothing and calming and anti-bacterial effect and can be used quite regularly. So that is a home treatment for a vaginal yeast infection. I’ll cover other kinds of home treatments in other videos. So you can read a lot more about these tips in my book, Candida Crusher.

So I hope that answers your question.

How long can it really take to recovery from Candida?

Hi there, Eric Bakker, here again with another frequently asked question regarding yeast infections. This is a question from Rick in Colorado.

Eric, what is the recovery time in Candida? What is the normal time somebody recovers from a chronic yeast infection?

Well, Rick, to answer that question, I’d have to say to you, how long have you had this thing for? What are your expectations of recovery? Have you had this thing for a year or two years? It looks like Rick’s had jock itch and toenail fungus. I’ve got no real idea how long you’ve had this for, Rick, but let’s just say you’ve had it maybe for five or ten years.

Well, the recovery time really depends on a lot of factors, but it depends particularly on how you apply toward the recovery. What measures are you taking? Are you treating this thing locally, systemically? Are you looking at your lifestyle and diet or are you just expecting supplements to do the curing for you? Are you using combination pharmaceutical drugs, anti-fungal creams or pills? And do you keep on drinking alcohol when you do this? Surprising how many guys do this when they see me; they’ll keep drinking beer and having pizzas, but then take a few pills and expect to get rid of it. Well, in that case, the recovery could be protracted or could take a long time.

So how long does it take someone to do a PhD? How long does it take someone to pay off a mortgage? How long does it take someone to do anything worthwhile in life? It all depends on the ability of that person to be enthusiastic about wanting to get the outcome and result they’re looking for. It depends on that person’s ability to apply themselves to get the results they’re looking for. So if you apply yourself earnestly and follow the advice I’m giving you in my book, Candida Crusher, you could nail this thing within 12 months. If you’ve had it for 10 years, I’d expect a 12-month resolution.

Anyone that tells you you can cure this thing, Rick, in 12 months is going to be close to the mark. But if someone tells you you can cure jock itch in 12 hours, well, you need to walk past these turkeys because there are a lot of these people out there that make these stupid statements. Just like I get spam emails in my inbox saying there’s a $126 million check for me to pick; some nonsense like this. If you believe in this sort of nonsense, well, there’s no hope for you. But I don’t think you’re that type of person.

So you can recover and you’re ability to recover is dependent on how you apply yourself with well-defined principles and a good program. And if everything works out well and you do things properly, within one year, well and truly, you’ll have this thing completely cleared up. But not only that, you probably will have lost some weight in the interim. Probably your sleep will have improved and you will have gained a considerable improvement in your health and well-being overall.

So I hope that answers your question, Rick. Thanks for your question.

Can I instantly get relief from candida symptoms?

Hi there, Eric Bakker, naturopath, author of Candida Crusher. Here’s a question I get asked from time to time.

Is there an instant Candida relief solution or program, Eric? What can I do to cure my Candida right now?

Well, let me give you a couple of pointers in this regard. If you’ve had a chronic yeast infection for many, many years, you’re not going to get rid of it instantly; I can tell you that right now. So let’s just dispel that myth right this minute. There’s no instant cure for a chronic yeast infection, regardless of whether it’s a vaginal infection, toenail fungus, jock itch, mouth, wherever you’ve got it. If you’ve had it for years and years and it’s chronic or recurrently chronic, you’re probably going to have it for some time and we’ll work on slowly getting rid of this thing permanently, but it will take time.

If you really believe in “instant” anything, you know, this is exactly what people would like you to believe. Absolutely; there are many of these crazy schemes on the internet right now. Whether it’s “Let’s get rich really quick”, “Let’s get rid of a disease really quick”, “Let’s get rid of your mortgage in one week”, “Let’s get you a new wife or new husband in one week”, whatever; any “instantly” is a lot of bologna. And if you fall for that, then all I can say to you is “a fool and his money are easily parted”. There’s no such thing as instant, quick relief cures for any chronic illness.

However, if you’ve got an acute yeast infection; if you have a vaginal infection not really previously or you maybe get it say once per year, and you’re looking for relief from a problem like this, then there is a solution. If you’ve got a tiny bit of toenail fungus, it’s not chronic by any means, but you want to get relief, then there is a solution. So you can get relief from acute conditions and you can get partial relief from a chronic condition, but you can’t get a cure. So let’s get rid of that whole idea immediately. Anyone who tells you you can get rid of something, you really want to pass those people by, okay?

Instant relief I talk a lot about in my book, Candida Crusher. In Chapter 4, I give you lots of different solutions; whether you’ve got a vaginal yeast infection or toenail fungus or jock itch or your child’s got diaper rash or you have a child with a digestive problem related to yeast, there’s generally some type of relief we can give you in the short term. But generally the problem will be recurring soon as you stop that acute kind of treatment.

So I would like to put it to you, it’s best that you work on this problem over a period of time anywhere from three to six months and maybe longer and work maybe on some acute relief. But then also realizing in the back of your mind that it’s not going to be cured or permanently resolved until you address the causative factors. And those are the important things I talk a lot about in my book.

So what kind of instant relief things can we recommend if we’re just looking at short-term treatment? Well, again, for vaginal infections there are all sorts of different types of approaches you can use. There are at least seven different approaches I outline in the fifth chapter of my book. On chronic yeast infections, I offer you a lot of acute solutions in there. And in Chapter 4, which I call the Quick Start Guide, I give you lots of quick solutions and things that you can do.

So now you’re thinking, well, come on tell me these things. I want to know. I don’t want to buy this book; I want to know them. Well, I spent three years researching and writing this book, and I can’t just tell you all these things instantly because the book is 700 pages; there’s a huge amount of information. But there are certain things you can do to help you in the short term.

Douching is one thing you can do for vaginal infections. You can try different types of treatments. There is a three-stage approach I use for chronic and usually a two-stage approach I use for acute. You can find some of those solutions on yeastinfection.org. If you have a bit of a search around that site, you’ll find them. Tea Tree Oil water soluble; tea tree oil is one of my favorite products to use on the feet. There are many different types of cleansing approaches you can use short term. Garlic is used. Colloidal silver can be used by some people. There are various different types of suppository approaches that can be used for females. And for males, again different types of approaches for jock itch.

So have a good look at yeastinfection.org, and I’ll certainly offer you some acute solutions there. So I hope that answers your question. Thank you.
